First and foremost, I should explain the use of my first name as my forum tag and the lack of a use of an actual gamer tag. The first reason is that I actually don't know what I will be naming my character in-game, as I have a whole slew of names that I usually pick from. The second is that my gaming friends all know me by Geoff, so naturally it was easier for me to just go by that. I'm sorry if this causes confusion.
Q) Have you read our Code of Conduct and Forum Rules?
A) Yes.
Q) Are you at least 18+ years of age? [yes, no, actual age is optional]
A) Yes, I'm 21.
Q) Do you have any relatives or friends currently in the guild? If so, who?
A) Not that I know of.
Q) Name: [planned in game/forum name]
A) As I said, I have many to pick from. Age of Conan's atmosphere really warrants a need for me to think up new names, since the ones I use are fairly childish names that I've had for years (Klikity, for example, is a name I came up with when I started gaming at the age of 15). Any suggestions would be welcomed.
Q) Gender: [female, male]
A) Male.
Q) What region do you live in? [City and State is fine.]
A) I live in Virginia.
Q) How did you hear about us: [friend, another member, forum, google, other mmo's, etc]
A) I was browsing the AoC forums and came across your post.
Q) Are you currently in any other Age of Conan guilds?
A) No.
Q) Have you applied to any other Age of Conan guilds?
A) No.
Q)
We like to have fun, how's your sense of humor? Not so good? Good?
You're a standup comedian you say?
A) Wordplay, sarcasm, stupid jokes...I love them. I enjoy making people laugh, and I enjoy laughing even more.
Q)
What other MMO's have you played if any: [Acquired a few skills from
some other games eh? Tell us about them]
A) I started playing EverQuest right before Luclin came out, and played it casually for a while. I can honestly say that I have never been able to recreate that experience in a game since. After that I played Dark Age of Camelot for about a year or two (can't remember exactly), then moved on to World of Warcraft shortly after it came out. I've played WoW since, and have been a hardcore raider with the exception of a few short breaks from the game. This is where most of my MMO experience comes from. The guild I'm in is the #1 alliance guild on the server (we're working on Felmyst now, if any of you are up to snuff on the workings of WoW) and around 400th in the world rankings. To be honest, it's an atmosphere I don't like. I've convinced myself to do it so long because of the friends there. At heart I am a casual player and I enjoy being able to sit back and play with other mature players. The guild I am in has many members who are extremely immature. Being in this atmosphere puts me into a horrible mood, and as of late I've convinced myself to head back torward the casual mindset.
Q) What makes you want to join us over some of the other AoC guilds? [let us know!]
A) The witty humor and mature atmosphere. I also like the idea of not dreading logging onto the game knowing I have to raid six hours at night.
Q) What aspects of Age of Conan excite you the most or worry you? Why?
A) I'm most excited about the aspect of building your own cities. I love housing systems in MMO's, but cities are a whole other beast. I'm very excited and can't wait to figure out the details.
I'm most worried about the stability of the game. I recently took part in the closed/open beta, shortly followed by the release of Hellgate: London. Talk about being jaded...it was terrible.
Q) What is your forum name on the official AoC forums?
A) I don't have one. I usually just browse and read.
Q) Is there any other information about yourself you would like to share with us?
A) I'm a huge car guy. My job is as a Data Acquisition Technician for road racing teams. I basically work with electronics on race cars. I travel every now and then, and I'm very passionate about my work. Since I'm a 'data geek' (it's what they call us in the industry) it's only natural that I'm also a computer freak. I love building PCs and reading up on the new tech gizmos and gadgets. I enjoy long walks on the beach, oreos, and cleaning my ears out with cotton swabs. On top of all of this, I also love the outdoors. I mountain bike and play paintball.
Q) Do you have any questions for us?
A) Can you guys make the release date come sooner? Please?
Thanks for letting me apply. Hope to hear from y'all soon now, ya hear?
