Hammerfist Clan - What if it were ~your~ guild.

What if Hammerfist was yours to direct? What if you could make any changes or additions to THC you wanted to, what would you do?

Hammerfist is no longer the small Neverwinter Nights clan of 20 people it once was back in 2002. Today we're a full fledged gaming community with interests in many different MMO's. Our bonds have transcended that of just gaming, and we've grown into a brotherhood and sisterhood of close friends. While we've shared our gaming experiences with one another, some of us have shared our life experiences as well.

Many gamers over the years have chosen to call THC "home" and it fills me with great pride to be a part of this awesome community!


With the coming of a new year, I'd like to get some feedback from what makes this community so great and rich, you, the member. What are some things you can think of that might help THC usher in the new year and prepare us for a long and continued success? Small changes, big changes? No changes? Old veteran of THC, new member of THC? It makes no difference, we're interested in your feedback!

I understand it's not always easy to speak up and be constructive without fear of being flamed etc. But we're looking for honest opinions and ways to improve.

Hmmm, I don't know that's a tough one. I think maybe trying to loosely "plan" some events for everyone to get together. I know just the little Thurs. Hammerfist event has really enabled me to get to know a few of the folks...Hole and Zee specifically since they've consistently come to the event. Keeping in mind of course our "casual" creedo....maybe some loose organization of events.

Merely a thought....there may be more already out there I'm just not aware of.

This is a great community and i think that the sky is the limit with what we want to achieve. The MAIN thing needed however is Community participation, on vent, forums and in the games we play. When i first joined i saw postings for Hammerfist Poker night among other community wide events. It would be great to see this happen again.....BUT,,,,,we need participation from the community, one or two people doing something on a weekly basis hardly makes it worth while.

Here comes some QQ..........I miss talking to alot of the members i started playing with on vent...it seems as though someones in game but not on vent or with the forums we have tons of people registered but only a handful of regular posters....

Could we maybe designate a Messenger service that we could all get and add each other as friends so we can bug and annoy people at work? Really coordinate and plan events and get people in game....

More planned stuff would be good, but I think we should leave it until after New Years. It'll be hard to get a lot of people together online during the holidays and I think that would make people discouraged about planning future events.

I'd like to see more people using the Guild Vault and Guild Auction. I suggest them often and it seems a lot of people don't know about them or how to get to them. For anyone who doesn't, the Guild auction is just a filter you apply in the AH window and the Vault guy is right next to the Banker (is this every banker? I only go to the one in south IC, right by the entrance/spawn point).

I don't think I'd do this. I don't really like the idea of people being able to contact me whenever they like. This is also why I'm not that fond of cell phones outside of emergency situations. When I have had ICQ or the like, I've always just used invisible mode which would defeat the purpose.

That's just one person though, and I read the forums all the time so it's not like I'd be out of the loop or anything.

the messenger idea wouldnt be for everyone....that is understandable and if you are at work and dont want to be contacted then having it closed is always an option...

Where i got this idea was I was in a clan For BF2142 and everyone had Xfire...which was a helpful tool for planning matches and getting people on at the same time...by no means do i think everyone has to get it but...it would be nice for the people who want to play together to have a tool besides A phone to stay in contact

I could do the who ICQ thing...that's how I roll!

Well for starters Brakk, I think we should have some sort of incentive savings plan like a 401K and definitely some sort of medical. I know my kid is going to need braces in about 3 years, so a dental plan would be keen too.

Other than that, I'm still waiting on the pie you promised me way back in AoC. I'm sure it's a bit on the ripe side now, but I look at it as a signing bonus. And DAMNIT! I want my signing bonus.

Also, who could forget the original binges we used to go on. When is the last time the clan has been on a bender and run naked through towns... Remember this sign:



But in all seriousness, I keep coming back because of the people. You continue to fill THC with a bunch of weirdos, misfits, and psychos. Who needs more than that?

Oh... and bring back PS Tennis! I do believe it was your serve!

The IM concept is out for me, unfortunately. I use IM at work to stay in touch with other techs in our offices across the country.

I would love to have more group interaction, however, being able to coordinate stuff like this can be a nightmare since we have real lives, and when that doesn't get in the way, we try to play our favorite game(s).

I don't have any brilliant ideas, but should anyone come up with one, I'll do what I can to support it.

Well as someone who has only been here since Warhammer I can not comment on the past but one thing I personally would not mind is perhaps mentioning there are some of us in the guild that lean more toward the hardcore player. I do not consider myself one but I would say I am far less casual than some, same with Paranoia and maybe a few others.
I would not mind getting a few people that played a little more regularly and were ready for t4 lvl 40 content. Myself and Naplamdeath have been 40 for several weeks and that is without "grinding" on my end, just playing what I would normally play. It is getting hard to get anything done since A LOT of gear that is needed comes from instances in the IC and the Lost Vale which have requirements starting with being lvl 40. I just feel like I have not been able to progress my character for a while now, and I would like to do it with the guild not a pug (good lord don't get me started on how bad pugs are at instances lol)
I know we had a few hit 40 lastnight which I hope helps some. Anyway thats things from my perspective at the moment. Love the guild, just wish/hope I have some ppl to play with semi regulalry at 40soon

I may make a new thread here in a few days that will help us get a better perspective of who is interested in end game. and then we could go from there.

recruiting a bunch of 40's never hurt either

ok hows about this ...... maybe a section in the forums called ROLL CALL....we used to have this in my bf2142 clan.....Pretty much it was used as a tool to see who all is active....we would simply have a thread once a month called Roll Call DECember and people would reply with /here or whatever...could possibly give us a better idea of how many active members we have just an idea

p.s. it would also create the need to check the forums....since im here might as well read some posts

If THC were "my guild" for a day, here's what I'd do.

Raise guild taxes to 120% just for that day.
at the end of the day, ninja loot the guild bank.
