A)Yes, and couldn’t suppress a grin or smile while reading some so it seems to me you’ve quite a pleasant bunch of members. (Luckily, because I’ve to admit when I first heard the name Hammerfist I half expected a clan of grumpy, old dwarves, which is NOT what I’m looking for!)

A)Call it a ‘browsing accident’. I wanted to click a link in a post on the warhammeralliance forums, but accidentally touched someone’s Hammerfist signature link. (So far for touchscreen browsing comfort on the iPhone, but can’t say I’m annoyed otherwise I probably wouldn’t have found out about this clan.)

A)Hm, I hope I don’t have to scale myself on a funny-balance, that would be pretty awkward.. But ofcourse I love to have fun and joke around, I think I can say I’m considered to have a good sense of humour and one of my main priorities when looking for a clan or group of people to play with is to have fun and share a laugh.

A)Quite a few actually, to name some of them: Phantasy Star Universe (xbox 360), EQ2 (PC), Eve online (PC), Final Fantasy XI (xbox 360), City of Villains (PC), but the #1 spot would be taken by Lineage 2 (PC).

A)That’s not too difficult to answer, I could almost copy/paste the ‘about us’ thread and wouldn’t be lying but that would be a bit cheap and cheesy. So here I go; the reason I (still) like MMOs that much is to share a laugh while playing with friendly people who have skill, understand that teamplay comes before personal gain, which doesn’t mean losing your sense for competition, but knowing that ‘ingame’ everything is relative. And last but not least, you guys don’t seem to replace letters with 1337 figures, which isn’t c00l but I’ll live (ahum).

hobbies, about your work, favorite story etc.
A)I’m sometimes considered a geek when it comes to electronics, I prefer the term early adopter though.


During the week I love to relax in the evenings by enjoying a game (also on the xbox 360 where I’m in a clan called ‘oldschool’ which could be a clone of yours considering the principles and code of conduct). I usually (try to) keep the weekend free to enjoy a drink with friends or spend some quality time with my girlfriend. She’s a beautiful person, but tends to get annoyed when I play games (See age question above) considering it ‘immature’. Well that’s probably going to be an eternal argument, I kind of gave up convincing her otherwise and try to spend that energy in being more creative as in ‘shielding’ what I’m doing.


Furthermore, I love diving and travelling. Been to the US and Caribbean several times to dive actually. I like animals in general, and reptiles in particuler. I'd love to buy a Husky (not exactly a reptile really) but I'm away too often I'm afraid. What else, I’m a student biomedical engineering, which is all about scanners, prosthesis and the likes. And I like (to play) basketball and love (to watch) American football, which makes me a freak amongst Europeans.

A)Well in case my application would be accepted, my biggest question and concern is will I be able to play together with you guys keeping the 6h (East) or 9h (Westcoast) time difference in mind. I usually play in the evenings, and I expect that’s more or less the same for everyone here considering the average member’s age. Or is this an international clan with also Europeans aboard?

As far as play time goes you're sure to catch atleast a few ppl on whenever you play. I fully understand the time difference from england having lived there for 3yrs up until Oct 31st 2007.

I like this your app, its always nice to meet people from abroad. Closest i've been to the UK was a long layover in the Heathrow "shopping mall" airport on my way to Finland.

I suppose I should ask my obligatory this or that kind of question:

1. Salsa or guacamole? explain your answer

2. You are running five miles to get some exercise. Describe how your muscle cells are getting energy. Discuss the processes involved and detail the differences that will occur at the start of your run and toward the end of your run? (biomedical question)

Ha, I feel compassionate knowing what a hellhole Heathrow can be if those lovely plasma screens change from 'boarding in xxx' to 'delayed'! Whenever possible I prefer London City airport, check-in times are much more 'human' and it's closer to the city centre.

1) Difficult choice, I like salsa, but if I've to choose between a salsa- or guacamole-free world, I'd go for the one with guacamole. Well, that is if the guacamole is made with avocado and olives (I go wild when seeing olives, you could probably make me eat an entire tire when it's stuffed with olives).

2)That sounds pretty much like my physiology prof on an oral exam not too long ago. Well I'd have you explain you that muscle cells use Ca++ to contract, which is released in T tubuli by means of IP3 ion channels (if I remember correctly). Cell energy is provided by Glc, depending on your fitness level you'll go into anaerobic metabolism when running too long which means you'll build up lactic (?) acid, causing muscle stifness.

Hrmm, excellent answers, textbook really.

When the muscles run out of energy the process of anaerobic fermentation occurs. Pyruvate is converted to lactate and energy utilized or stored in NAD. CO2 is a byproduct and the muscles build up lactic acid which causes sore muscles.. An Oxygen debt is built up and you begin to breath harder to increase th O2. Eventually the soreness in the muscles goes away post process.

Just curious, where in Belgium are you from ? Once upon a time, I lived for a year on a dairy farm outside of Mons.

My parents live in the province of Antwerp, which is in the Northern (Dutch instead of French speaking) part of the country. I can't say I fled to the UK in search of better weather though, because it rains as much, if not more, here than there but you probably know after a year what I'm talking about.

Thanks for all the positive comments! But unfortunately even if I would be allowed in, that only makes it more frustrating now because of what I just read on a WAR wiki site... It said "Europeans can't register an account on a North-American server and vice versa". I've to admit I couldn't suppress dropping the f-word a couple of times when reading that!

It doesn't even make sense why they would do such a thing, unless it's for lag reasons, but how hard can it be to allow only those people who have a good connection/ping...
I can wait, hope and see, but I think changes are slim they'll change such a policy (soon) unfortunately.

Never ever trust a site that any fool can edit...lol Wiki is full of unreliable information.
You can very well play on a North American Server..they just state it may not be as "ideal" for other countries.

Iam sure you will be able to play on a American server.....just buy and american version of the game.

First, thanks a bunch for the approval! And I'm very relieved to hear wiki has proven itself to be unreliable! If needed I guess I could also get myself a copy from an American site. Still a tad worried if there will be enough animo around those servs because of the Hammertime/PST - GMT difference of 7hours... I sure hope so, because I'd love to wreck some havoc online with the clan!
