Some ideas for recruitment if you having a conversation with people. This is what I have found to work out well.

If you in Tortage first group up with the person.

    1. Ask if this is your first time playing

    - This will let you know if they have a main they play, which will indicate a possible another guild they participate in.

If yes it is the first time playing -

    1. Offer to help

    A. Ask them if they have quests to do "insert zone here." then offer to do the quests with them. Dont worry about what you have to do. A helping hand goes a long way.

Tip - If you are helping them with a quest lead the way for them. Ask them to follow you, after you have told them you will help, then you gain good person points!

    3. While Questing ask questions (get them talking)

    A. Ask them where they are from. Ask what other MMO's they have played. Ask what they liked best about the last MMO or why they choose Conan.

    B. Don't ask to many questions - LOL a lot of the fun is playing the game. Keep it casual.

Tip - Always repsond to thier comment with positive reinforcement. Usually a positive acknowledgement is good enough. Nice, Great, Cool, That sounds neat. Exciting... etc

By now you should have a little conversation going.

    4. Ask them if they want or have considered joining a guild?

Don't ask - Do you want to join a guild? (sounds to rough and it cheapen's your position)

    A. If YES or NO - Tell them why from your experience with Hammerfist why it can be a very fun and exciting thing to do. Talk about guild events, Vent, jokes, funny times you have had with people. Explain about the mature people and guild goals.

Make sure to personalize it- People respond to personal experiences. Don't give canned information.

After you told them about what you like about Hammerfist in one or two sentances...

Ask them - Does what I just told you sound good to you? Get them to say yes... ask any question that will make them give you a positive answer about what you shared. Once you get people saying yes, it makes it easier for them to continue to say yes again.

If they Say Yes - Then ask if you can invite them to the giuld since it sounds like we are on the same page together. Send invite -. By now you would have interviewed them, gotten a conversation going, and know if they would fit in or not.

If they say NO, then this person is not a good candidate. If you explained the nice things about our guild and your experiences and they said NO, then back off and just quest with them.
