Problems with Vent Empty Problems with Vent

Post by PDOA Fri May 23, 2008 11:49 pm

Ok, I have tried fixing the problem (mic not working on my headset) with no luck. I have a 7.1 Creative Labs sound system so all the speakers are hooked up to the sub and the sub is hooked up to the sound card. The problem is the sound system uses the mic jack. At least I think that is the problem. There isn't a mic jack on the sub and I'm at a loss as to how to get this mic to work without having to disconnect my speakers everytime I play AoC. Any suggestions?

The speaker system shouldn't be using the mic jack at all unless it has its own mic input on the control unit. If the speaker system does not have a headset & mic port built in then you shouldn't have anything plugged into your mic input on the sound card.

Unless its a Flex port which some Creative Lab card have.. My Mic jack is also the jack for Digital IO. My card has Front / Rear / Sub jack also which is where I have my speakers plugged in and then the Flex port I use for my Mic.

If you mic is plaugged into the mic port and still not working.. Make sure the Mic is not muted on the Sound Pannel.. Also under Sound, Input you should be able to configure your mic to make sure its being seen at all.

My mic works on the headset. I tested it using my computer but it isn't working with Vent. My soundcard has C sub (orange), L/R rear speaker out (black), L/R front speaker out (green), L/R middle speakers out (gray), mic in (pink), and a blue jack which looks like CD player or a mixer. The mic jack isn't used by the speakers or sub so it should work and I tested it and it worked. I wonder if I have to do something with Vent. Go into options and change something.

Went into Vent's options and fixed it. I'm good to go.
