I do have another computer question to ask all of you tech people out there. I just built my new system and have vista 32 bit installed, and it seems to quite often to freeze or restart all by itself. Is there something I am not doing correctly?

I was thinking that maybe my power supply is not big enough (450W). Please let me know what you all think.

Bios could be a problem too... I had the same issues with teh 32bit vista and an 8800gt... I had to update my bios to the newest version to make things right with vista. I tried many things but ever since I did this I do not freeze or crash

Lack of power can make your system unstable. Also, if your ram voltage, speed, and timings are not correct you will get instability.

Have you done any stress testing on your computer with OCCT or Prime 95? Memtest is also good for just checking your ram.

Really there could be a variety of things causing the issue if you have been upgrading and/or overclocking.

As mentioned in the above thread, outdated bios and drivers can make problems too. Vista likes to have the newest versions.

Did you do a clean install of Vista or an "upgrade"?

If you do have an upgrade disc the other thing I did was first do a clean install of windows xp(format and all), and just update it with all the windows updates don't install anything else.... then do the upgrade to vista basically a clean install but with the upgrade version of vista.
