DIABLO III Announced

Diablo III was officially announced this morning at BlizzCon by Blizzard. With that announcement the official site was launched also www.blizzard.com/diablo3. There is like 20mins of actual game footage and producers talking about the game, and much more at that site right now..

Needless to say i am just a little excited for this game, I have been a Diablo fan since the first one, and let's just say myself and many other people finally got their wish of Diablo III.... no official release date yet.

Yes, there's been many rumors over the years, it's nice to see some official word finally.

Gaaa! No more new games! Can hardly play the one or two I have now

You have to read further into everything. They have only reveled two of the classes so far. And Diablo is nothing like WoW, its not even an mmorpg . Its actually a hack n slash

cant wait for this one. right now im replaying diablo 2 with a friend to kill the time till warhammer. so what is everyones favorite class. Mine are barbarian and socerories(sp)

<3 the diablo series, best ever created. Can't wait for D3, though WAR certainly helps! Of course, D3 will probably become the on again off again type thing D2 is for so many.

Aww man.. they announce it this early so that we can agonize over the incredibly long wait for the game to come out?

I apologize for the bump of an old post, but ...... D3 is gonna rock . I am definately getting this. I have been a big fan of D1 and D2. I havent played D2 in over 2 years, but have heard there has been quite a bunch of additions/changes to things. Has anyone played it lately?

It's not out yet, Klem. In fact, I think they are still figuring out what will be in it. When I initially checked the D3 site they only had two character classes, (Barbarian and Witch Doctor), now there is a third, Wizard. So far, the Paladin, the Rogue, and Assassin classes are still missing.

If we are very lucky, it will go to Beta, and I hoping they will have a public sign up for same, around mid-year 2009 with a full release in time for the Xmas Rush of 2009, provided we have any money then.

All I know is that the gameplay video is amazing. If it's anything close to that it will be fantastic.

It did seem that they had 4 classes in the video though - not sure if perhaps there were 2 barbarians only of different models...

I can see many hours being sucked into DIII. Do you think there will be a dump-click replication "feature" so you can have infinite cash like in DII?

Going back to my previous entry, I checked out the current D3 FAQ. Blizzard is being cagy as ever about release dates and details, which tells me that development is still in it's early stages. It does offer a clue as to how many classes there will be (5) and that you can choose the gender. (I wonder what a female Barbarian is going to look like.)

It's on my watch list.
