The article (link below) shows that conan can be played on 1920x1200 with everything maxed and even bloom and 2x AA turned on (with 260 and 8x AA with 280). Basically if you want a card where you can turn everything up all the way, these are the cards to get. I for one am getting the 260 as soon as I can sell my current 8800gts's. 260 retails for about $400 and the 280 for about $650. For $250 more you aren't getting much so why bother unless you are rich.

Ya, trading up my 8800gtx for the gtx 260 myself as my current psu will power-it great without having to upgrade it.

When are the 260's coming out? All I see on new egg are 280's. I would love to be able to turn all my shadows back on, some 2x aa and bloom.

Oh and ATI just lifted the NDA on the 4850... so check it out. Looks like the Red team is back in it. I will be picking one up as soon as I can find one. Best $200 I could ever spend.

before buying you should wait for the 4850/4870 this month and compare. I think ATI will be bringing out a very good card (price/performance ratio) that will rival nvidia right now and nvidia's crazt prices.

Man what to get next...So basicly the ATI 4850 is faster than a Nvidia 260 and only will cost $200ish? But what gets me is if I sli a pair of 4850's I get better performance than a Gforce 280???
So, $200 4850 beats a $400 260
or
$400 sli 4850 will beat a $600 280
I would have to say I think I will be a ATI guy this next round. But i'm curious if I can sli some ati cards in my geforce sli based chipset asus motherboard?

bought an EVGA 9800GTX ...
Looks like my timing was good because I should be able to use their step-up program to get a 260 for trade-in + $100.

The answer to that question would be no... and I am not switching mobo's so I am staying with Nvidia this next round. Not because I do not like ATI but because I just spent almost 300 on this mobo I have with 3-way SLI

Well just did the step-up program through EVGA and traded in both of my cards and for just about $250(retails for 649.99) I will have a new GTX 280 in about two weeks... I am so happy I am ...

Here is the deal, both sides should be happy with this. The release of a card like the 4850 really just shook up the entire graphics card segment.
This will force the price of the GTX 260, 280, and 9800GTX down. It doesnt really matter if you have an nvidia or intel motherboard, the important fact is that we are all about to be able to buy cards which can rock out AoC, Crysis etc. for $150-$200.
And that my friends is awesome.

The 260 is set to release around June 26th or so. Getting trade-up through BFG Tech myself. Paid $379.00 for my 8800gtx so I should get a pretty sweet deal on the trade-up to the gtx 260 as far as price goes. Oh, happy days. Of course, I'll be out of game for a couple of weeks as I await delivery and all that.

Yeah I have two 8800GT's through EVGA... one that I am able to do their upgrade program on and they are giving me $220 for it, the other my friend is buying from me and has agreed to wait two weeks for it. So luckily I am able to still play on the one 8800gt while I am awaiting the arrival of the GTX 280

Ahh, kewl, I have a HD 2600xt-OC as well not being used currently. May slap that in just so I can play until my new card arrives once I send in my 8800gtx that is. BFG really stepped up when it comes to the trade-up program they have as it is offered from 100-days of purchase and still give the lifetime warranty on the new card ya get after the trade-up. Works out quite well.

Yeah I got 90days with EVGA... but unforturnatly I bought one card about 40 days before the other... and I would love to wait for the 260 version but I only have about 4 days left on my step-up program ... otherwise I would probably never go for the bigger of the two cards, but hopefully it will be well worth the admission to it

Ya, seen the benchmarks for both AoC and Crysis and they look great compared to 9800gts/gtx/gx2's. Forgot the link though .

Enjoy!

edit: wasn't actually a benchmark (sorry for the wording), just a review on how the new cards held up to testing.
