Xenatha was born on a ice cold morning of the land of her people in the lands of Cimmeria. Her
father Cronrg was a warrior who had fought besides Conan in the Hyborian wars of the past. He was a master of arms and can hold his own agiest many lesser men. Her mother Treastra, was a Shield Maiden and was an expert with the short sword. Because Cronrg and Treastra did not have a son, they become to teach Xenatha to become a warrior. At the age of 2 she was given a sword and a shield with her father and mother teaching her how to block and strike. Her mother also trained her on the short sword as soon as she could hold a real sword in her small hands. In addition, she also taught Xenatha how to read and write. Of course her father, Cronrg, thought this was a waste of time and always suggested why learn how to read. He always stated: “You going to
bore them to death with a story?” Of course Treastra ignored her husband and stated that a good warrior should be able to read a map and be able to ask for direction if they are lost. Xenatha heard her mother giggle at the end of that statement. Then her father let out a load bellows laugh. To help Xenatha gain strength and stamina, she was responsible to gather water from the valley far below and bring it up to their home.
Years pass and Xenatha was getting to be known as a sturdy fighter and many from the village has seen her with her mother and farther practicing a sword fights or hand to hand battles. One day the village was under attack by unnatural monsters who looked like humans, but when one was cut down it would rise again. Cronrg, Treastra, and their daughter fought besides the other warriors of the village, but the undead kept coming and there were 100’s attacking the village with only a dozen warriors. Lucky enough for the village, a legion of Cimmeriaian guards arrived. Within this legion were those who knew the way of magic and dispatched the undead in quick order. However,
before arriving the captain of the guard observed three warriors who stood against a score of undead who showed no fear and fought like a company of his best guards. He noted to find out who these warriors were at the end of the fight.
The Captain after the battle met with Cronrg and explained that they have been following this group and their master for many miles. The Captain asked if Cronrg, his wife, and their son to join the Cimmeriaian Guards. Xenatha hearing this clinched her sword tighter and was about to say
something when Cronrg let out a laugh. Captain this fine warrior is my daughter and I am sure she could best many a man in a fight. The Captain then looked at Xenatha and laughed and then stated: “Indeed she could I am sure”. The Captain then looked back at Cronrg and Treastra and stated; “Well my fine warrior will you and your family join the Guards?” Cronrg stated, I must decline for myself for I am the Captain of this village and I grow tired of a young man’s fight, and as you have seen someone must protect my family’s lands and the people of this village. My wife can speak for herself for she is a master of the short sword as you may know. Treastra stated; “I will stay with my husband for he needs to be protected.” At this she smiled and then both she and her husband let out a laugh. Treastra then stated, “However, I think our daughter should accept this offer to learn more of the world and of other fighting styles.” Both Xenatha’s mother and father turned to their daughter, go learn of the world beyond this village and perhaps beyond Cimmeria herself. Become the warrior I know you are. At this Xenatha, holding back tears from her bloody face, she hugged both her parents and said: “I will take what I have learned and shell return one day to tell you of my adventures.”. She hugged and kissed her parents, then turned to the Captain and stated: “I will be of service to the Guard if you will have me.” The Captain looked at Xenatha with his steel blue eyes and a frown for several minutes. He then stated, I have seen many a person fight, but none with the passion you have demonstrated this day. I will welcome you into the Guard and continue your teaching as to being a Warrior. He then turned to Cronrg and
Treastra and stated: “Master Cronrg and Master Treastra, I will keep your daughter under my supervision and will continue her training. I thank you for your service to King Conan and to Cimmeria. May the gods bless you this day.
