Joined the day after my 17th Birthday, spent most of my time in the 1/505th ABN INF Regt of the 82nd a couple years attached to the 5F group due to my 11C MOS and did a stint in Korea, Panama and various places in the middle east.
Here is a picture of a much younger Galwyn in in Central America in the mid 80's. I am the one in the front, we were on 50 / 50 security me other mates are hiding in the bush, awaiting extraction! After 16 years I was more than happy to pass the torch to the next generation of troops, this stuff is a young mans game. To all those serving now my hats off to ya!
