A) Yes indeedy
Q) Are you at least 18+ years of age? [yes, no, actual age is optional]
A) Three days away from being two years over!
Q) Have you read at least one of our example applications? [this is highly recommended]
A) I have.
Q) Do you have any relatives or friends currently in the guild, or were you recruited by someone? If so, who?
A)No relatives or friends. Friends are what I'm hoping to gain I would say I was recruited by Brakka(sp?), who invited me to apply.
Q) Name: [planned in game/forum name]
A) It'll more than likely be Muru. Could be Durka, or Derka.
Q) Gender: [female, male]
A) I'm a man, baby.
Q) What region do you live in? [City and State is fine.]
A) Durham North Carolina.
Q) How did you hear about us: [friend, another member, forum, google, other mmo's, etc]
A) Brakka tracked me down after I posted looking for a guild similar to yours. Told me I'd be a fit
Q) Are you currently in any other LOTRO, AOC, or Warhammer guilds?
A)Not a one.
Q) Have you applied to any other guilds?
A) I applied to one earlier today, just before Brakka messaged me. I've informed them that you guys will be my top option for the time being. It was the International Killing Krew.
Q) We like to have fun, how's your sense of humor? Not so good? Good? You're a standup comedian you say?
A) It really depends on the people I'm talking with. Suffice to say, I think I have about the most open mind there is, and I fancy myself pretty intelligent... yeah I think I'm funny, hehe.
Q) What other MMO's have you played if any: [Acquired a few skills from some other games eh? Tell us about them]
A) Man oh man. I've played almost every MMO to hit shelves, but I'll just list the ones I actually gave my time to.
EQ 1: I played EQ 2 as well, but I think it's really just digital turd. The original, though, was one of the two games that really sunk the needle into the vein, and got me hooked. I never went too far with it- I played it from launch, so I think I was what, 12 or 13 years old? Really learned the art of dedication here though- as anyone who played EQ before Planes of Power knows, the damn game took some investment. Taught me patience, and just how much fun a well earned piece of loot can be to recieve, or to help another to recieve.
Earth and Beyond: Played the hell out of this game until EA threw it in the trash. Learned here how important a thriving player community is, there just wasn't the connection there for me to dedicate all the time I'd like to have, or at least I didn't find it.
Asheron's Call (1): The other game that really sunk me into MMOs. This one I actually went pretty far in, up to level 75ish, with an Archer type of skillset. This game definitely showed me how a community can be built in MMOs- I still think the Patron/Vassal system was one of the best out there- really created a cool connection between the two.
WoW: This is where I learned to lead a guild. My guild, Clan Shadow, ended up making it pretty well in the pre BC days, go as far as killing Nefarion before I burned out and handed it off to my best officer. I learned that leading a guild in an MMO should, ideally, be as much of a hands-off process as possible- people don't generally want to play these games to be bossed around- hell, half the time they just got home from that. No, I found the job of leadership to be one of facilitation, offering and organizing events, such that players are incentivized to contribute. Also learned the finer aspects of raiding here, and how communication is paramount in achieving success, both in PvP, and PvE. I looove this game.
Any others really felt like a waste of time
Q) What makes you want to join us over some of the other guilds? [let us know!]
A) You guys seem to pretty much share the same outlook on MMOing that I do- that this is certainly a fun, immersive and sometimes obsession inducing hobby, but that it's just that: a hobby. I don't want to spend every damn free minute I have raiding like I did in WoW, which has it's merits to some, rather, I want to make all the time I do spend in the game enjoyable for me and the new friends I want to make. You guys, thus far, seem to have the right system in place to facilitate that
That, and Brakka promised hookers and booze.
Q) Is there any other information about yourself you would like to share with us?
A) I'm all about the guild I join. Really don't give a damn about what my PC happens to be wearing, because, to use WoW terms, even if I'm just decked out in greens and my guildies are decked in purps, I'm more than happy to be able to say I helped them get there.
As far as me personally though, I'm a college kid. I'm taking this semester off, but I'll be back at it in January. I'm a big time music nut, and I read about it all the damn time. I play Bass, and a little guitar, and I pretty much live for hearing my next favorite record.
Q) Do you have any questions for us?
A) I had a few, but Brakka answered them nice and quick for me. I guess I do have one- not to assume this much before my damn app is even read, but is there room for advancement? I really find a lot of fun in helping to lead the guilds I join, in whatever capacity leadership is needed. Naturally this would be an earned achievement, I just wanna know where to set me goals
