Q) What MMO do you currently have the most interest in playing?
A) Warhammer Online
Q) Have you read our Code of Conduct and Forum Rules?
A) Oh, aye. Read them with tea and crumpets. Better than a newspaper for tea time. Well, not better than the comics,
but right up there with the legal notices, truly.
(Yes, I did, and I will honor them, assuredly.)
Q) Are you at least 18 years of age? [yes, no, actual age is optional]
A) Indeed. I'm 41, married, 2 disabled children.
Q) Have you read at least one of our example applications? [this is highly recommended]
A) Read several of those, as well as some examples of the denied applications so I knew what *not* to do as well. *ahem*
Q) Do you have any relatives or friends currently in the guild, or were you recruited by someone? If so, who?
A) My wife, Sacara, will also be applying; but, neither of us are members yet. And, no, we weren't recruited by another.
Q) Name: [planned in game/forum name]
A) Dietche
Q) Gender: [female, male]
A) Male, with +1 steely eyes and +2 wicked grin.
Q) What region do you live in? [City and State is fine.]
A) Belen, NM for several years. Born and Bred in New Orleans, LA as a Cajun. I make a very mean deep-fried turkey.
Q) How did you hear about us: [friend, another member, forum, google, other mmo's, etc]
A) Saw your listing on Warhammer Vault in their guild database. My wife and I have been researching guilds for Warhammer
for several days now, and this is the clan we decided to apply to.
Q) Are you currently in any other AoC, LOTRO, or Warhammer guilds?
A) No.
Q) Have you applied to any other guilds?
A) No. This is the guild I've decided to commit to and throw my hat on...errr.. in with.
Q) We like to have fun, how's your sense of humor? Not so good? Good? You're a standup comedian you say?
A) I have a bonus to platitudes and ironic festering. However, my Sarcasm Metric addon HUD keeps flickering red every
time I type in /guild. *sigh*
Q) What other MMO's have you played if any: [Acquired a few skills from some other games eh? Tell us about them]
A) I'm old school, having started with text based adventure games, moving right up to horribly pixelated Pong. I then wrote one
of the first 3d games and I also coded several popular MUDS.
AC1 then came out, where I eventually worked up to being a Sentinal (a CSR in game, with GM powers). I stayed with
AC1 for a long time.
I beta tested AC2, Lineage, AO, and EQ1 each for 1-3 months, but none were much to my liking.
Around this time WOW came out, which I played for oh, 4 years or so. I was both a member of a large raiding guild and a guild leader
for a 150 member guild.
In the last year or two (besides playing WOW), I've tested or bought LOTRO, DDO, AOC, Saga of Ryzom and something else
I'm too damned old to remember. Oh, ya, Horizons. While they were all "good" games, none have the finesse nor polish
that WOW and Warhammer have, and I'm too damned old and grumpy to put up with games that aren't FUN, or are
half-baked and incomplete. =]
Q) What makes you want to join us over some of the other guilds? [let us know!]
A) You are well established, pragmatic, reasonable, and, from what I've read, adept at spotting good/fair/poor potential members.
Q) Please tell a little about yourself, aside from gaming. Perhaps some hobbies, about your work, favorite story etc.
A) I have many varied interests, likely too many. I enjoy working with electronics, be it consumer electronics, lasers, or even the
eclectic such as thermoacoustics or ion plasmas; computers (repair/maintenance/building/modding); anything mechanical such
as automotive, hovercraft, airplanes (or even the new fanwing), and so on.
However, first and foremost, I work at home so that I can be with my disabled children to home school them and watch
them grow up. It gets no better.
Please remember to register here on these forums.
A) *crackles* cccrrrrchhhhh... Copy that. *rogerbeep*
Q) Do you have any questions for us?
A) Yes. Should grumpy old men, or those that feel grumpy and old, be given their own minority status?
(No, your website is well laid out and all of the questions I had when first arriving here have been answered handily.)
--Sincerely,
--Dietche
