Q) Have you read our Code of Conduct and Forum Rules?
A) I have read the guild Code of Conduct and Forum Rules and am very happy to see there are others out there who believe there’s more to a guild than OMGZ PHAT LEWTZ MINE MINE GIMME! The Code of Conduct seemed to be very well thought out and exactly what I’m looking to be a part of. Most people are more interested in what a guild can do for them, they don’t realize that it’s what each member can bring to a guild that really counts.
Q) Are you at least 18+ years of age? [yes, no, actual age is optional]
A) I’m 32 years old, will be 33 in August. My husband is 29 now so I’m looking to trade him in for a newer model. Remind me to post a thread for applications for my new boytoy! We just had a baby girl in January. I fondly refer to her as my Anti Gaming Unit... *cry*
Q) What region do you live in? [City and State is fine.]
A) I live in Lakeland, Florida and absolutely LOVE Florida. I moved here from Virginia
in 2005 because I decided I was allergic to winter. I have a Doctor's note!
Q) Gender:
A) I am WOMAN! Hear me ROAR!
Q) Have you read at least one of our example applications? [this is highly recommended]
A) I have read many of the applications. The approved ones for guidance and the rejected ones because over the years after trying desperately to get people to follow directions from a recruiting officer standpoint, I now find humor with the people who can’t find their way out of a plastic bag. It was either that or end up in the loony bin hugging myself rocking back and forth and muttering "It’s in the instructions, it’s idiot proof!"
Q) Do you have any relatives or friends currently in the guild, or were you recruited by someone? If so, who?
A) Sadly, none of the above. My husband and I were searching the forums for Dagoth guilds, read several guild websites thoroughly and decided that The Hammerfist Clan was exactly what we were looking for.
Q)Forum name: [The name you will be registering here]
A) Tasia, my main. According to the naming sites I found, the name means Resurrection in the Roman culture. Yes, I’m the nutty one who researches names for my characters and tries to find something that sounds pretty yet has meaning pertaining to the class.
Q) Current haracter name(s): [blank if none]
A) Tasia - Priest of Mitra, level 28 is the only character I have played since early access although I have created Daria - Assassin, Irisi - Herald of Xotli, Iboni - Demonologist. I did try out a few other classes during open beta and decided to go with Priest of Mitra as my main. I'm very glad I did, priests ROCK!!! All my characters are on Dagoth at this point in time although my husband may force me kicking and screaming to make a character on a PVP server.
Q) How did you hear about us: [friend, another member, forum, google, other mmo's, etc]
A) We found a list of Dagoth guilds on a thread in the Age of Conan forums and started investigating to see if any had the same beliefs and goals that we did. I think we found one!
Q) Are you currently in any other Age of Conan guilds? Please tell us your reason for wanting to leave if you answered yes.
A) No, I do not believe in having different characters in different guilds nor do I believe in applying to a guild while still guilded with someone else. I think it’s sneaky and dishonest and if someone is just playing it safe in one guild until they get into another, it’s not fair to either guild.
Q) Have you applied to any other Age of Conan guilds? Please tell us the status of your application if you answered yes.
A) No, my husband and I wanted to make sure that the guild we applied to would be one we could stay with for a long long long time. I can’t stand guild hoppers and people who use guilds to benefit them then move on.
Q) What class and level are you? If you're not playing yet, what class do you intend to conquer Hyboria with?
A) Tasia is a level 28 Priest of Mitra so far. If not for our Anti Gaming Unit, we’d be higher level by now but we also enjoy exploring the game, not just levelling as fast as possible to level 80. As much as I let him die, we’ll be running around Hyboria for a while. Someday he’ll learn to be nice to his healer, especially when it’s his wife!
Q) We like to have fun, how's your sense of humor? Not so good? Good? You're a standup comedian you say?
A) I think I have a good sense of humor, love to joke around and have fun but I absolutely disapprove of jokes in poor taste and to some extent foul language. Saying that, if I’m PVPing, I stay off Vent. It’s not pretty.
Q) What other MMO's have you played if any: [Acquired a few skills from some other games eh? Tell us about them]
A) My first MMO was Everquest which I absolutely loved. I was in a top guild which defeated every expansion to the point that the devs couldn’t keep up. I played EQ for several years until EQ2 came out. I beta tested EQ2 then played the game until SOE annoyed me with some of their changes. A friend I’d met in EQ2 convinced me to try Guild Wars which I played until I got every character levelled as high as I could and had all their abilities captured, then I got bored. They hadn’t come out with the expansion yet. That same friend and I went to WOW where I have been until recently. I missed the immersion factor that EQ had and I think I’ve found it in AoC. I am very happy with the game so far, my husband and I were in open beta. Oh I forgot to mention I betad LOTR for about 5 seconds. Ugh, moving on!
Q) What makes you want to join us over some of the other AoC guilds? [let us know!]
A) After reading several of the threads on your forum and reading what your guild is about, I believe it mirrors what my husband and I are looking for in our gaming experience. I believe we can bring a lot to the guild. I will bend over backwards to help a guildmate and a friend and am always willing to drop what I’m doing to even help a random stranger. I believe that each member wearing the guild tag should wear it proudly and that their actions reflect on the guild both positively and negatively. I don’t like the zerg asshat mentality and am not just out for myself. To me, there’s more to this than just using people. I’ve made some very good friends over the years throughout the games I’ve played and I love that aspect of it.
Q) What is your forum name on the official AoC forums?
A) Tasia, I try to keep things uniform throughout.
Q) Tell us a tidbit or two about you, outside of gaming. Maybe about your job, your hobbies, maybe what sports you like to play. Anything you'd like to share.
A) Hmm, job. My job for the time being is full time care of my daughter who I have so many nicknames for it’s not funny. I’ll share some of them with you sometime. I’m sure you’ll find them quite funny although most have something to do with poop. Can’t imagine why. When my husband comes home from a long grueling day at work (did he mention he plays AoC all day at work?), I try to toss the baby to him and run but that never seems to work. That’s pretty much the only sport I play although I do like watching pro sports on TV which I never have time for anymore. I like race cars, motorcycles, airplanes, rollercoasters and pretty much anything that goes fast and makes my hair stand on end.
Q) Do you understand if approved you may be added to our reserves; where we select applicants to join our ranks on an as needed basis.
A) Yes, understood and will patiently await an opening. Until then, if anyone needs a PoM lemme know. I’ll rent out the husband too for a small fee, just don’t tell him. Saving up for a horsie. Maybe I should set up a website !
Q) Please remember to register here on these forums.
A) Will do, as soon as my application is read, re-read, proofed and posted!
Q) Do you have any questions for us?
A) As long as you all know that the women in the guild rule all, we’re fine!
