Q) Have you read our Code of Conduct and Forum Rules?
A) Yeah, they seem straight forward and easy to agree with.
Q) Are you at least 18+ years of age? [yes, no, actual age is optional]
A) Yes, I'm 32.
Q) What region do you live in? [City and State is fine.]
A) PST, Seattle WA
Q) Gender:
A) Male
Q) Have you read at least one of our example applications? [this is highly recommended]
A) Yep I read two.
Q)
Do you have any relatives or friends currently in the guild, or were
you recruited by someone? If so, who?
A)
No not a single one of you. I found this website via an AoC link and
was immediately impressed. Since I'm not part of a guild right now,
they are staying in WoW and I am not, I'm poking around.
Q)Forum name: [The name you will be registering here]
A) alanlee222
Q) Character name(s):
A) I honestly won't know for another 90 minutes. I've never been one to keep a name from one game to the next.
Q) How did you hear about us: [friend, another member, forum, google, other mmo's, etc]
A) A link on an AoC board espousing the prolific nature of your ventrilloing.
Q)
Are you currently in any other Age of Conan guilds? Please tell us
your reason for wanting to leave if you answered yes.
A)
There is an online community I'm a part of that is comprised mostly of
gamers whose relationships go back to Asherons Call 1. We've been
bantering and sometimes playing games together for about 9 years now.
They are good people, but honestly I find the overall group dynamic a
little bit immature for me when mixed with gaming. This was fine in a
game like AC, but less so for more developed games where community is
an important issue.
Q)
Have you applied to any other Age of Conan guilds? Please tell us the
status of your application if you answered yes.
A) No I haven't. I was going to go in with my less mature friends and hope for the best. Then I found this website.
Q)
What class and level are you? If you're not playing yet, what class do
you intend to conquer Hyboria with?
A)
I am most interested in Bear Shaman. I did not play in beta so this is
opinion is formed from reading stuff online and talking to people.
Q)
We like to have fun, how's your sense of humor? Not so good? Good?
You're a standup comedian you say?
A)
Some of the most fun I've had in MMO's has been running an instance
that everyone knows so well that the conversation transforms from being
about the game to just making fun of each other or letting some person
in voice go into comedian mode. There is something greatly satisfying
about that contrast. And yeah I am pretty light hearted.
Q)
What other MMO's have you played if any: [Acquired a few skills from
some other games eh? Tell us about them]
A)
Q) What makes you want to join us over some of the other AoC guilds? [let us know!]
A)
Well for one, you are a large group. This can happen two ways that
I've seen. A. Anyone can join and the common denominator goes down, or
B. The group has something innate about that attracts specific type of
people. I have a hunch it's the latter occurring here
with this guild, which is why I am typing this. The fact that you have
an older player base (I'm 32) suggests to me that there will be many
people I would get along with. From reading over your group literature
I have a sense of enjoyment and agreement.
Q) What is your forum name on the official AoC forums?
A) afoster206 (Alan Foster 206 is Seattle area code. I love my city.)
Q)
Tell us a tidbit or two about you, outside of gaming. Maybe about your
job, your hobbies, maybe what sports you like to play. Anything you'd
like to share.
A)
I worked in tech for almost all my 20's. Now I'm a full time student.
I graduate next year and will then go to grad school either for
philosophy or public administration. I read so much for school I have a
stigma. I work out a lot. My favorite site for this is crossfit.com
If I buy a thing of chocolate or a box of cookies, I have to eat them
all right away. I can't stop myself. I'm 6'4. If you're ever in
Seattle the best place to eat is Pomodoro on Eastlake Ave.
Do you understand
if approved you will be added to our reserves; where we select
applicants to join our ranks on an as needed basis.
A) Yes I understand this.
Please remember to register here on these forums.
A) Done! (actually I screwed up and registered first. Thus proving I can read.)
Q) Do you have any questions for us?
A) Not right now but if things go well I certainly will!
A) Yeah, they seem straight forward and easy to agree with.
