Thanksgiving is my ultimate favoritess holiday.

I love ALL the food, having seconds and thirds, and mucho leftovers the next couple days.

Eh Xmas ..I can take it or leave it and Halloween has never been a holiday I liked.

I voted for my birthday, although I really enjoy all the family holidays, Christmas probably most of all since in 24 hours I see both halves of the family and get stuff =)

Why my birthday is the most awesomest day of the year:

I've been working since I was 14, usually 40-60 hours a week, sometimes two jobs at a time with just a few hours of sleep between. When I took the job where I currently work, one of my new employees walked in and asked for a day off next week (she was also new). I asked her why, she said it was her birthday. Seeing my "so?" expression, she said that it was her gift to herself, and she used that day to just relax.

Looking back on my birthdays, many of which have had horrible things happen on them, I decided to adopt her policy, and for the past 13 years I've taken that day off. My wife and kids know that that is Daddy's Day. Daddy does not move unless he wants to, and is very very unlikely to even leave the house. Chances are dad will be in bed or on the couch, and the Lou Malinati's guy will be over with his birthday pizza. I love my day off, and look forward to it all year.


For the morbid, stuff that has happened to me on my birthday: hit by car, hit by truck, had my white mustang GT accidentally painted in rainbow colors, best friend urinated on my head, and a few other things that don't immediately spring to mind.

I am glad that you can take a day to chill on your B-day! I would like to do that was well, but since im in college I want to save all my sick days...since we only get like 2.

I voted Halloween but it's acctually a tie fro me between Halloween and Christmas. I love the family stuff of Christmas but halloween is just plain fun.

Evadrepus, I also take my birthday off of work every year as a present for myself. I usually go snowboarding that day though unless the conditions are to bad and then I dolike you said and don't do much of anything. Annewing doesn't get why I do it but I think you hit it on the head with calling it a self gift.

I love eating and drinking to excess and there's football too.
The best part is, one day out of the year, its allright to fall asleep on someone else's couch because everyone knows that turkey (not the two six-packs of beer) makes you sleepy.

I would have chosen Christmas for the reasons stated above except there is always some kid who needs batteries, doesnt understand the directions or can't put the friggin toy together which keeps me from my nap.

So I vote for Turkey day

I always feel like a little kid the night before, even if I haven't been that excited about it until then. And I love putting toys and furniture and such together. No one else in this family reads manuals, I swear.

Also, ohgod stuffing and ohgod fudge.

I voted all holidays, because I love how Alan's family gets together on almost all of them. I am a family person.

I voted for all of them as well. Holidays are just something a little extra that makes life more interesting.

I would say that it is christmas for me just because of the spirit everyone gets into. Its not really just one day, its more like 2 weeks where everyone is in the "christmas spirit" as it were.

I love Xmas....mostly the tree. Makes the house smell so festive, and now that I have a daughter I love spoiling her rotten. Plus my mom is totally nuts for her grandbaby and I love to watch them together.

BTW when I met attius/attica he was in the SCA. Interesting bunch of folks, lots of freaky people, but lots of nice folks as well. Attius just enjoyed putting on armor and beating the crap outta other guys in armor with a stick.
