Guys, come on. Dont lie to yourself. Picard may be the best "captain", but its friggin james t. kirk all the way in a deathmatch. I mean come on no contest he could take all the other captains on at the same time. SHATNER RULES!!!!

please. Picard wins hands down. why go running head long into a fight with a man half his age? Picard would be smarter than that. he would just wait for the right moment and jump out behind kirk and stabby-stabby.

Personally, i think it depends on the situation. Janeway would whup up in a diplomacy situation, Kirk and Archer would both do well in a physical confrontation (which would win is a toss up...kirk fights dirtier, but Archer is smarter), and Picard would win if it involved fleet tactics.
Oh, and Data would kick all their asses on every occasion. Just sayin.
