Actually The GPU is most important more so then RAM on the card. The GPU is what determines pipelines and texture addressing. System ram is more important then video ram actually. Heresa break down of the 88xx series:

Form Factor 8800 GTX 8800 GTS 8800 GT 8600 GTS
Stream Processors 128 96 112 32
Texture Address / Filtering 32 / 64 24 / 48 56 / 56 16 / 16
ROPs 24 20 16 8
Core Clock 575MHz 500MHz 600MHz 675MHz
Shader Clock 1.35GHz 1.2GHz 1.5GHz 1.45GHz
Memory Clock 1.8GHz 1.6GHz 1.8GHz 2.0GHz
Memory Bus Width 384-bit 320-bit 256-bit 128-bit
Frame Buffer 768MB 640MB / 320MB 512MB / 256MB 256MB
Transistor Count 681M 681M 754M 289M
Manufacturing Process TSMC 90nm TSMC 90nm TSMC 65nm TSMC 80nm

Course these are reference points that dont include OC'd cards but the specs on pipelines and shaders processors is what brings the framerates. I run 2x 8800GT's. From 8800GT on up they used the G92 GPU which uses DX10 features (where applicable)

Hmmm I wonder why I still can't run LOTRO in DX10 without graphical glitches then. Maybe I need another card for SLI. XD

EDIT: I just double checked and it turns out that I have the 8800 GTS instead of the GTX. That was a stupid purchase. Why did he buy that one? Ugh...nvm

Well they still are good cards and i think the GTS actually came out before the GT. I know it sounds weird but i think i read that somewhere when i got my card. I run a "not as well know brand" Palit brand GT. Theres a tool called GPU-Z thats a simple executable file that will give you all the info on your card. Im sure a 2nd GTS would kick it up a notch i think they are getting pretty inexpensive now. May even browse the Nvida forums or OC forums to see if you can unlock pipelines and shaders. Alot if the time they will use the same GPU just the soft bios on the video card tells it the card only has 96 pipes vs 112. A simple bios flash..bam new card. I dont usually advise this unless you have a back up card b/c just like flashing anything...shit happens and it sucks clown

Does a ATI card work on a Nvidia chipset? I really never mixed and matched. I know VIA,Intel worked both ways, SiS dont get me started they dont work with nutten, always wondered if an ATI card would work with a nvidia chipset lol.

Uhh guess we need to find out what chipset you have on your Mobo

Like I said, no job = no paycheck. Plus, I forgot what the fiance has in his system but if that card that Paranoia listed up above is better than what he has...well...let's just say he won't let that happen. lol I guess I have to let him have something for himself. Razz

My MOBO is Nvidia...Tri SLI..but i use the ATI card...and it is Beastly...only one card needed...! WAR runs smooth on max settings even during Keep Raids.

I believe it's the Crossfire (ATI's SLI version) that won't work on the Nvidia chipset...you need the Crossfire chipset.

However, this will be changing in the new gen mobos.

Yeah i saw you had the 780i right? I got the 680i hehe. The 8800GT dont seem to TRI-SLI from what i read anyway. I was actually wondering is ATI's Crossfire would work on a Nvidia chipset board for SLI. From what i read it does just needs a work around driver or something.
