I don't like it. it's really not all that different from a standard keyboard. I mean look at the conan key set and tell me it is enough different to warrant buying it over a standard KB. (I have also read many complaints of keys sticking on the Z-board but I have never used it myself.)

Now that doesn't mean there aren't other options. I bought another product from the maker of Z-Board just for Conan and I used it during Open beta.

It's called the FANG and it works awesome! What I like best is I can keep my regular KB and just slide the Fang out when needed. The software is awesome and I love it so far. Playing Conan on this thing rocks.

Been using the ZBoard like forever.
Never had any problems with it exept for Vista drivers early on.

Here is what I like :
It's a normal keybord, clip it out and put in the gaming keypad with the red arrows (similar to the Fang), they create mod files you can download that support all the worthwhile games.
Get a dedicated game keypad with nice graphics and pre set keyes based on the spesific title.
I used Battlefield 2 and 2142, WoW and GuildWars gamepads and liked it a lot.

I have a G15 (not the new one!) that I have come to <3. As long as I can make macros and assign them to my G keys and my number pad, I'm sure I'll be happy still.

Although I have always wanted to try out a Z-board... So many of my friends have them and seem to like them well enough. I just wonder what the "preset keys" are on the Z-board for AoC.

I've got a G15 as well and absolutly love it. But after looking at Z-board and the n52 I'm curious. They look cool to say the least, But how hard was it to adjust from just using a keyboard? Or was it a pretty easy no pain kinda thing?

The N52 wasn't hard unless you used the joystick control. That got some getting used to.

The shift states and layouts for Warcraft were easy and should be simplistic for the realatively low number of spells/combos AoC offers. The hard part for AoC will be the movement aspect of it unless you are already left handed.

Can't tell my left thumb to do crap sometimes... Razz

However, once you get comfortable with it, it owns. You can play the entire game with your left hand and surf miget porn with your right.

i have drooled over that for quite some time, my boss got the earlier version (orange one). my main concern is the movement keys not being staggerd like the wasd. Also i'm not wanting to have to move to my keyboard to type when i need to

i would seriously consider getting one but how do you have yours set up

i would think if i had one i would use the mouse strictly for movement and viewing and probably key jump and some other useful movement related buttons to the 3 xtra mouse buttons i'll have

the thumb hat or plus key or w/e you call it on the side i would most likely use for sheild control

i would then use the key pad for spells and macro combos (as a necro i use one button to precast my buff spells, another to cast (at lvl 20) 3 of my minions then another macro to first sic my minions on my target then cast the 2 - 3 degen spells i have, then i cast my pb aoe and i'm generally done, thats only 4 buttons used so far

once i got good enough i would go blind and turn off the gui since i have my g15 in front of me giving health and mana and stamina read outs

then i would have to start all over for another class lol

sheesh thats an awful lot of thought put into something i'll probably never get Smile

Pretty close to what I used...

I was still getting used to AoC over warcraft and never really shielded (was playing caster).

So thumb hat for me was movement in combat... Mouse movement out of combat. Not sure why, it just always worked out that way.

Mouse also used for jump, climb, camera.

Keybindings were simple for spells, but I made bindings for eating, drinking, and bandaging as well. I also created a corpse buff that would put up all my friendly buffs after death or just to refresh them.

Other thoughts about these keyboards, is that they are definitely overkill right now for AoC. The simplicity built into the interface makes using a normal keyboard sufficient. There is no scripting language to speak of and the number of spells/abilities are limited so complicated tasks don't exist now.

Personally I do not like the n52 type controllers. I'm not a WASD player so I need my movement keys to stand out more. I tried the n52 at the store and I just didn't like it.

It is one of the cooler looking units though.
