10K RPM HDDs Empty 10K RPM HDDs

Post by mohan Sun May 11, 2008 6:24 pm

I am looking to invest on one of those 10K RPM HDDs for OS and other critical applications (Mainly Programing applications) including AoC. What I want to know is if thse HDDs are worth getting and what kind of HDD do you think would be suitable?

Thanks in advance for the advices

I would say Western Digital is really the way to go for the 10,000 rpm drives.

I have 2 of the older 74 gig Raptors running in a Raid 0 configuration and they scream. The only draw back is the 148 gigs of hard drive space fills up WAY too fast with Vista 64, AoC, and a few other games and apps.

As mentioned above, they now have the 150 gig Raptors and soon to be released, VelociRaptor at 300 gigs.

The VelociRaptor is supposed to be a beast from all the benchmarks i have seen so far. I am looking for an excuse to buy 2 of them and do Raid 0. Twisted Evil
