Use EMCAECEAC as the Promo Code to get $15 off that case, take off the 80 dollars in rebates and you have a fairly new system for around $520 that should run AoC beautifully. The only risk I run is whether or not that PSU is any good. But raidmax does make some good PSUs, so if it's one of thiers (which it should be,) I'll be fine.

I've read up alot on tom's. I'm bit dissappointed that thier GPU charts and such are out of date. They're so useful for this kind of thing, it's so much more work to look up individual comparisons.

I mean sure, they are reusable but they are soooo friggin cheap

The only concern i would have and i'm sure you've checked, is whether the 500 watt powersupply has the correct connections for the graphics card (pciE) in this day and age one would think all psu's were compatible but its best not to assume. Same thing goes with the SATA power connectors(but i think there are adapters for those)

Their charts are up to date except for the 9800 series, which should be out soon. They only list the most popular configurations, but you can select, 8800GT SLI, or 8800GTX SLI, and the like. I guess, I'm not sure what you are referring to when you say they are out of date.

When you look at their charts, there are two dropdowns. One at the top to select the benchmark and one at the bottom to select the product or gpu configuration.

The lack of the 9600GT just kind of kept me from doing a one stop comparison.

It has 1 6pin PCI-X connector. Isn't the 6pin the PCI connector or do these new cards need something else?

i might have to look at this. I configured a system that would pretty much kill anything it came in contact with for just under $2000 before tax. that was with a quad core, 2 9800GTXs and a water cooling system, and 8 gigs of ram. I already have an 1100W Tagan powersupply certified by ABS, that I won at the Newegg lanfest last year.

Tom's did end up reviewing them. I'm not too sure why they never made the charts. I'm thinking it was because of the lackluster review and the fact that nVidia was just using it as jumping stone to the new 9800 series.

yeah, after reading up a bit i decided to go up a price point (as you can see) to get the 8800GTS G92. And it comes with the witcher for free to tide me over until i get $ to preorder AoC. Or get into beta, but I doubt I'll get that lucky. I also decided to go for the 4GB RAM, even though I won't get the full performance out of it until I upgrade to vista later this year. I mean what the hell, it was only thirty dollars.

Got my new PC put together today. Plays crysis real smooth at max xp settings and 4x AA. I like :-) Should play AoC real well too.
