AoC and Dual Cores.. long load times Empty AoC and Dual Cores.. long load times

I do not have this issue with my Quad Core, but the kids Dual Core 6400 was having some real long load times. I remember seeing discussions about dual cores and shutting down one of the cores for AoC..

I went to AoC process in mem... Set the affinty to core 1 and now load times are much faster.. Since AoC currently does not support multi core its not a loss in performance, but what a difference it made in load times.

Interesting, I will have to give this a shot. My load times were the sux last week, but they seemed to have improved gradually. I was about 3.5 minutes from clicking the AoC icon until I was able to kill some shit today, not great but not terrible either.

I found that only my first new area load was long. (Like the first time I ever want to Tortage.) After that, things went much quicker.

I'll try the core affinity trick (I use a dual-core chip as well), but I had heard that AoC is in fact optimized to run on dual-core (but not quad-core) processors.

I read somewhere that are working on a bug that was introduced in open beta regarding the loading.
