Best thing I can tell ya is....be honest. Whatever he asks you, know that he already knows the answer. And FYI if you're up with the Chief....you'll have to screw it up pretty bad not to get the job. Good luck.....and being the boot sucks, just get the coffee and wash the car with a smile on your face and eventually they'll get a new hire after you who will be the crud on their boots to push around. When I was a "boot" there was a message on the briefing board that said, " Please do not take shared equipement home with you, i.e. flashlights, shotguns, recruits." Pretty well sums up your first few months. Also, when you're in FTO program...just listen, you may want to interject...but believe me, just listen. Oh and Vicks doesn't do jackshit for smelling dead people...actually makes it worse IMHO. Just get used to it.
