I loved this game. It pioneered the way for a ton of games that came to follow. Never since, has any game ever gave me the "feeling" as this one did, that I was actually exploring dungeons, almost if I was actually there myself. It left just enough to the imagination, it was like reading a good book, but being able to control your role in it.

Ahhh that was the good ol days of true adventuring. Mental maps of the areas you visited, and new dungeons being mapped out on graph paper. Pfft today's automaps.... it's for gurly men!

Atari ST Gridiron by Bathesda softworks was a great game back in 1989. I played it every night. You had the ability to program plays and playbooks as well set basic attributes for each player. It was the begining of Madden.

I love the Bard Tales series played all 3 back in collage on a commadore 64. I wish they would remake them because they were very good games not like the one EA did a few years ago (not even close to being like Bards tale just some rpg that they decided to use name on). My favorite class on it was the monk because at high levels they did a tremendous amount of damage. Very Happy

    The Elder Scrolls II: Daggerfall

Was a litte ahead of it's time and had a lot of bugs. However, the world was massive and had 100's of 1000's of cities, dungeons, etc... to crawl around in. Was pretty much exactly like Oblivion, but on a larger scale. I spent hours and hours playing this.

LORD rocked! Who *didn't* try to seduce the barmaid just for bragging rights? However, my favorite BBS game of all time was Trade Wars, and TW: 2020. Good times that was. Empire was also a good BBS game, sort of like a lazy version of "Nobunaga's Ambition".

Anyone ever play Nethack? Did you know that game is *still* being developed? I just downloaded a new copy; looks *quite* different than it did in the 90s.

Lessee, what else? Q-Bert on my Commodore 64. Lode Runner was fun (if only because you could build it yourself in BASIC). Oregon Trail for the Apple IIe was oddly fascinating. It introduced my young self to the gentle world of starvation and animal mutilation in the old west.
