You're in Houston, right? You ever been to the Flying Saucer pub over on Main? (I think the cross is McKinney?) This place was recommended to my coworker and I several weeks ago, and we make an effort to get there at least once a week while we're in town. Awesome (and I mean AWESOME) beer selection, and all the waitresses wear short skirts. It's a little loud, but the beer and "floorshow" is worth the chatter.

I highly recommend you check it out, if that's your sort of thing. Great selection of Belgian beers; I recommend the Golden Monkey or any of the Chimays. Get yer drunk on!



Also, can you recommend a great Houston steak place? One of our guys is coming in in a few weeks, and he's never been to Texas and wants a classic chunk of Texas cow. Only place I've tried is the StripJoint. (Good food, and very... "interesting" decor. I wouldn't take the kids.)

I try not to go downtown unless necessary and I have not been to that restaurant. One of the best steak houses in town is Taste of Texas located near I-10 West and Beltway 8. It is pricey but very good. I would also recommend Ruth's Chris Steak House.
