Q) What MMO do you currently have the most interest in playing?
A) Warhammer of course! Been waiting a good long time for a pvp heavy game to come around. Other than this I frankly have low expectations of the future MMO market. Blizzard might just have it on lockdown. Don't get me wrong I'm looking forward to SCII and D3 just as much, maybe more, than the next guy, but my first love was Asheron's Call 2, and I'd love to see some sweet smaller scale games like that come down the pipeline too.
Q) Have you read our Code of Conduct and Forum Rules?
A) Yes and yes. One question though. If I throw out that I'm hosting a block party come October 31st (Atlanta, GA - contact me for details) is that considered soliciting/advertising? And in case it is, I've got the good mixed drinks ready for anyone who comes dressed in squig armor.
Q) Are you at least 18 years of age? [yes, no, actual age is optional]
A) Yes. I'm actually turning 21 this December putting my remaining life expectancy at right around 3 months.
Q) Have you read at least one of our example applications? [this is highly recommended]
A) I have. I do like Marachino cherries.
Q)
Do you have any relatives or friends currently in the guild, or were
you recruited by someone? If so, who?
A) My good friend Homunculus is also a member of this guild. He's been my guidance counselor for a number of years. He's like my personal buddha. We previously planned to create the worlds greatest game a number of years back (heh, I always think of Tribute by Tenacious D), but I've since gone the premed route as opposed to computer science. I also know Micas and Rhalin and perhaps if they remember me Elanora and Gerex who I'm told have different names in this game. I know them all from Warcraft. Oh by the way, in WoW I was known as Loyola and Elmlin.
Q) Name: [planned in game/forum name]
A) I'll be going with Condiss. I thought it sounded sinister. Makes me think of dissection.
Q) Gender: [female, male]
A) Male.
Q) What region do you live in? [City and State is fine.]
A) I live in San Francisco, CA. However I ventured far from home and spend most of my time at a university in Atlanta, Georgia.
Q) How did you hear about us: [friend, another member, forum, google, other mmo's, etc]
A) I heard about ya'll after I noticed Homunculus had a guild tag. I asked a few questions. I got a few answers. I liked the answers. And I'm applying.
Q) Are you currently in any other AoC, LOTRO, or Warhammer guilds?
A) I am not. I am sorry.
Q) Have you applied to any other guilds?
A) I have not. I was hoping to find one with friends from games before and this is it.
Q)
We like to have fun, how's your sense of humor? Not so good? Good?
You're a standup comedian you say?
A) I like to laugh but I get paid the big bucks for being the straight man. I manage to make everything funnier by comparison. If you need to be set up so you can knock em down, I'm there for ya. I am good with a story, however. My life is the punch line for a good many jokes.
Q)
What other MMO's have you played if any: [Acquired a few skills from
some other games eh? Tell us about them]
A) My first love was Asheron's Call 2. I was a Lugian, whatever. I probably tried every single career i could, Raider, Tactician, Bezerker, Elementalist, Juggernaut (youtube clip alert - anyone ever seen "I'm the Juggernaut Bitch!?). Following AC2, Homun and I moved on to City of Heroes and were impressed, but the lack of PVP quickly made us abandon ship in favor of the wonderful World of Warcraft. Honestly there are quite a few people who will hate on this game. It has been around a while, there are various and sundry balancing issues, but this was a polished game. I loved the backstory. In fact I will often play a game just for the story. Example: Metal Gear Solid 4. I think I loved the story and the cutscenes more than the game itself. And just to add on to that, I really don't play console games that often. I stick to Madden and NBA 2K if anything. I will however be purchasing the next iteration of Final Fantasy.
Q) What makes you want to join us over some of the other guilds? [let us know!]
A) Well I haven't really shopped around at other guilds. But from what I read about what you're looking for and the way you approach an application and a new member of the guild, I think I've found a good place to stay. My life is a little busier than most and I really can't be dedicated to the game over my life, but when I am around, and trust me I love to be around, I like having a good time with fun people. If you're looking for another fella like that, I can be that guy. Already am.
Q)
Please tell a little about yourself, aside from gaming. Perhaps some
hobbies, about your work, favorite story etc.
A) Well for most of my life I was an athlete, period, hit return, type "Il fin." I've played basketball competitively since I was 5 and have traveled to most every geographical region in the US for it. I love the sport. In high school I decided I could add my talent to another sport and since my father specialized in brain and spinal injury I was forced to choose volleyball over football. I was fortunate enough to get all league honors in both. When deciding where to go to college I threw athletics in the back seat, time to get ready for the real world. I didn't take up any offers from basketball schools that couldn't offer me a good education as well. As it is I'm fortunate enough to have parents willing to pay my way through college, a very good school in Atlanta, GA, and I'm playing DIII basketball here which is more than good enough for me.
Alright, moving on from that wall of text that is my first time committment. I am also a premed student most likely interested in surgery. I'm doing alright, I think I'll make it.
I'm an active member in a fraternity that I believe may have been a poor choice. The parties sure are fun, but some guys just don't know when its time to grow up, and I do hate being the one to clean up after them.
I have a girlfriend at home in San Francisco.
This Friday I am of my own free will deciding to be an absolute fool and kill a keg with 6 other friends just because its Friday. Or alternatively because I'll have just completed 2 midterms and one of two major papers this week, I deserve it.
In my spare time, when I'm not glued to my computer screen or reading a book, I'm trying to pick up the guitar (so many people in the house know how and are trying to teach me). I have no talent.
I also make an excellent bartender. If you let me in I'll teach you a trick that will change the way that you drink beer. Given that you like Mexican beers. I know that ya'll prefer the Irish, Belgian stuff. I do love Guinness too.
Please remember to register here on these forums.
A) I will certainly try.
Q) Do you have any questions for us?
A) Well...if anyone was/is a math major, I could always use some help studying for this Calc midterm Friday.
