Q) What MMO do you currently have the most interest in playing?
A)

Warhammer Online. Played lots of MMOs in the past dating back to Meridian 59 and before that the text based MUDs in college.

If Bioware is really making a KOTOR MMO then I will certainly keep an eye on that. I'm also paying a little bit of attention to the Star Trek MMO but I'm skeptical. I think we need another good space-themed MMO.

A)

Yes and I appreciate all the pains being taken to ensure a friendly atmosphere within the guild. This seems to be a guild I would be comfortable with one of my kids joining (if they were old enough to play!).

I saw the growing thread on the Ulthuan Dest Guilds forum on )

After that was Star Wars Galaxies. I'll never forget the pure wonder of that game. It was just so ... open. I actually made a career for myself as a prospector. I leveled up the surveying, merchant and a few pistoleer boxes and then spent my 10 lots dropping harvesters. I would then resell the resources to crafters. I made millions in that game by carving a niche for myself. It wasn't actually a class in the game but the game structure allowed me to do it. My ultimate goal was to be a spacefaring merchant but JTL never really enabled that. I was hoping to have to fly illegal goods and deal with hairy escapes and space combat. Too bad it didn't work out that way.

Unlike a lot of people I actually gave the CU and even NGE fair chances. But it was the NGE that drove me away for good. They butchered what was up to then the most amazing in-game economy and crafting systems I had seen. only EVE has managed to replicate it, to some degree.

Since SWG I have at least beta'ed many of the MMOGs that have come out. DAOC, City of H/V, EVE, LOTRO, Auto Assault, POTBS, AoC, and of course WoW. I played WoW off and on since it launched. I thought it was great, the best combination of function and polish yet. Sure the player economy and crafting system is not as good as SWG or EVE, but because of the vast number of players there's a sense of scale to the economy that the other games can't rival. Well, EVE is technically one game realm so that would rival it even without the 10 million subscribers. In any case, I love that stuff.

Q) What makes you want to join us over some of the other guilds? [let us know!]
A)

From what I have read this guild seems to really stress a relaxed playing environment, is accepting of casual players, and yet is large enough that it will probably see some of the higher end content that a small guild won't. It seems like the best of both worlds. If there's one thing on WoW that I didn't get to see much, it was end game content, and that was mostly because i didn't get involved with a guild that could consume it.

Q) Please tell a little about yourself, aside from gaming. Perhaps some hobbies, about your work, favorite story etc.
A)

I am in upper management at a publishing company. I run the IT division. I enjoy my work although it's gotten less technical as I've moved up the ladder. If you ever want to know anything about capital expenditures, profit & loss, accruals or T&E budgets just let me know!

I'm big into sports being somewhat of an athlete when I was in school. I loooooove me some NFL. I'm from Philadelphia although I live in Florida now so I'm still into my old Philly teams. I can't help it - they indoctrinate you to love the Eagles and hate the Cowboys at a very young age.

I'm married with three kids - two boys (5 & 3) and a girl (8 months). From the time I get home from work to when they get to bed I hang with them. So I usually get to sit down to decompress (ie, play games!) after 8pm on weeknights. On weekends I get away with as much gaming as my wife will allow! heh

Question: What is your favorite aspect of Warhammer at the moment? Further, how do you think we can help to enhance this part of the game for you, and you us?

My favorite aspect of warhammer right now is the PVE and the PQs to be specific.

I'm a quest log reader. Can't help it. I like to know what's going on and why I'm doing what I'm doing. I also like to see how the quest lines end and tie into new quest lines. The PQs are a brilliant idea and I find myself stopping to contribute to them whenever I pass by. But then again I often stop to look at landscapes, clouds, structures, etc... I appreciate that someone took the time to create all these things in game. In particular I like looking at the little things like birds on branches, or books strewn on a table, or skulls on a stake, etc. I enjoy watching NPCs walk around and I like reading their chat bubbles and listening to ambient sounds. My friends would laugh in WoW because we'd be riding to Halaa for some action and I'd be chatting "wow look at the clouds, that looks so cool" ...

The one thing that worries me about the PQs is ... er, actually what I'm having a problem with now in tier 2: Can't seem to find people to help me finish them. Maybe that is something the guild can help with. But either way I see it being a problem for Mythic - maybe they can come up with a sliding scale so that # of mobs and mob strength spawns to match the number of players present. I'm sure there are complexities with that, but I'm just worried that in a few weeks or months a lot of these PQs will be deserted and any nubs that come along will miss out.

How can I help the guild? Well, you don't know this yet, but every Tuskilla comes with a "help on sight" package that involves me stopping what I'm doing when I pass a guildmate to help him/her with whatever it is they are doing. Especially if in combat. My playstyle is such that I like to take a supporting role, even if it's not the sexiest role (and it usually isn't!) available. For example I'm a black orc and I'm going Charmin-spec. You know, the quicker-picker-upper; able to absorb massive amounts of damage without going down - even if I don't put out much damage myself. In this game I've quickly learned how valuable a role that is in pvp. A taunt that actually works in PVP, who woulda thunk it!

Actually I am a voracious reader. Don't know what it is. I just like to do it and I can do it pretty quickly, and usually get the gist of something on the first read through. I always did well on those "reading comprehension" tests in school.

Thanks everyone! I've been in for a few days now and everyone has been great. I'm just about level 15 and lookign forward to getting some keep sieges going. A few of my work buddies have joined the game as well so for the past 2 or 3 days I've been helping them get familiar with things. Who knows, maybe some future recruits! Fresh meat!
