Q)
We like to have fun, how's your sense of humor? Not so good? Good?
You're a standup comedian you say?
A)Well I think I have a wonderful sense of humor, if a bit dry at times. I try and find humor in just about everything. However my wife would completely disagree. I don't think she has ever laughed at any of my jokes. My son and I laugh a lot together though.
Q)
What other MMO's have you played if any: [Acquired a few skills from
some other games eh? Tell us about them]
A)I started out in Everquest. I played from 2000-2004 on a pvp server. It was my best gaming experience to date. I was able to commit a lot more of my time to gaming then and I made a lot of friends on the server. Even though the community/server could be harsh at times. I also enjoyed the teamwork that was necessary for just about anything you wanted to do.
I took a small break from Everquest to play Shadowbane. I loved the game with its sieges and pvp. Once everyone left because of technical problems I quickly followed. I thought the social aspects(alliances) of shadowbane really made the game.
After a small break I played WoW soon after it released. I loved the gameplay of Warcraft and it kept me playing for a couple of years. I joined a couple guilds, leveled a couple characters up and pvped some. But I never really clicked with any guilds/players like I did with Everquest. I think it was the solo aspect of the game. The community and I weren't a great fit. I do think it was a great game though.
While I was on/off again with WoW I played Everquest 2. I only played because of a few friends from work and because of my Everquest roots. I didn't enjoy the gameplay and never gave it much effort.
Recently I gave AoC a go with about 10 people from work. I though the combat was innovative but something was missing from the game. My friends still play but I just grew extremely bored with game and had to force myself to log on. I stopped playing when I got the War beta invite to try it out. I wasn't even considering the game much till then. However once I saw how they were running the Beta and the clear direction/plan the had with the game I was hooked.
I have played a lot of other games as well just not for very long. Ultima Online, Lotro, Tabula Rasa, FF, and Lineage 2.
I think the number one thing I learned in all the games I played is patience. Lots of waiting/time used up in MMO's. Playing with other people and their schedules you really need to have patience.
Q) What makes you want to join us over some of the other guilds? [let us know!]
A)I like the fact that you are looking for people with good personalities rather than uber gaming skills. MMO's are plagued with anti-social behavior and a lot of guilds pride themselves on being jerks to everyone outside of their guild and sometimes to themselves as well. Hammerfist Clan gives me the impression of a bunch of people logging on to a game and having a good time without huge egos ruining it for everyone.
I also like the fact that you are a multi-gaming guild. If for some reason Warhammer falls to the wayside in a couple years due to some other game, I want to be able to keep my guild and friends into the next game.
Q)
Please tell a little about yourself, aside from gaming. Perhaps some
hobbies, about your work, favorite story etc.
A) I work as a Nuclear Security Officer in San Clemente, Ca. I'm married with 1 eight year old boy. Besides gaming I spend most of my time with my family or reading Sci-fi,Fantasy novels. Nothing beats going to a library sale and getting 40 books for $15. And will George Martin please finish Dance with Dragons.
I work grave shift so I play throughout the night on my days off. Hopefully you have some other night owls as well.
Please remember to register here on these forums.
A)I will register.
Q) Do you have any questions for us?
A)I really don't have any questions. You have an informative sight and tons of applications with lots of questions that you guys answered.
