Q) What MMO do you currently have the most interest in playing?
A) Warhammer Online, though I am currently subscribed to World of Warcraft until WAR is available.
Q) Have you read our Code of Conduct and Forum Rules?
A) Yes.
Q) Are you at least 18 years of age? [yes, no, actual age is optional]
A) Yes, I am 37.
Q) Have you read at least one of our example applications? [this is highly recommended]
A) Yes.
Q) Do you have any relatives or friends currently in the guild, or were
you recruited by someone? If so, who?
A) No, I know no one in the Clan.
Q) Name: [planned in game/forum name]
A) Rifter/Rifter -- however, my game name could change. I have this thing about always choosing a new name. I've already used Rifter once long ago, but I like it and it seems to fit the character I want to play here.
Q) Gender: [female, male]
A) Male.
Q) What region do you live in? [City and State is fine.]
A) Kansas City, Missouri
Q) How did you hear about us: [friend, another member, forum, google, other mmo's, etc]
A) I saw your post on the Ten Ton Hammer forums.
Q) Are you currently in any other AoC, LOTRO, or Warhammer guilds?
A) No.
Q) Have you applied to any other guilds?
A) I did apply to another Warhammer guild, but after joining I discovered that they were not quite as mature as I had hoped. On the contrary, they were juvenile, l33t, and generally horrible. I will not be playing with that bunch, I assure you. (I'd rather not name them now that I've spoken so unfavorably about them.)
Q)
We like to have fun, how's your sense of humor? Not so good? Good?
You're a standup comedian you say?
A) I actually get paid to be funny; I write greeting cards full time. However, please don't ask me to repeat my jokes from work. I really hate that. Don't worry, I'll be clever enough without prompting!
Q)
What other MMO's have you played if any: [Acquired a few skills from
some other games eh? Tell us about them]
A) The list is pretty long, and I fear it would bore and annoy you. It starts with Ultima and EverQuest and ends (more or less) with World of Warcraft and City of Heroes. Highlights (in my opinion) include Dark Age of Camelot and Final Fantasy XI. I've been a guild master in EQ2 and WoW, but only of very small guilds. Even so, I did learn to research and organize guild excursions and quest nights with a fair amount of skill. Oddly enough, raids have never been something I've participated in, but there's always a first time if I think it will be more fun than tedious.
Q) What makes you want to join us over some of the other guilds? [let us know!]
A) Your Code of Conduct says it all. I want to hang out with grownups, not children. I want to be part of a guild that treats everyone well, not just guildmates. Above all, I do not want to hear any talk of politics when I'm trying to relax and enjoy myself.
Q)
Please tell a little about yourself, aside from gaming. Perhaps some
hobbies, about your work, favorite story etc.
A) I just started playing D&D again after a many-year hiatus. I absolutely love the 4th Edition rules! I fell off my bike last month, and now I have a scar on my knee. I love nerdy European-style board games. I am currently reading When You Are Engulfed In Flames by David Sedaris, and it is wonderful. I own a Wii and like it a lot, but I spend just as much time playing the PS1 version of Scrabble against the computer. I like animal crackers.
Please remember to register here on these forums.
A) OK.
Q) Do you have any questions for us?
A) Are there any specific times when my presence is absolutely required? It's not likely to be a problem, but I already have a few regular, real-world social activies that I'd want to work around.
