Q) What MMO do you currently have the most interest in playing?
A) I'm currently not playing any MMO since the WAR Beta and PW closed, but I'll be playing Warhammer Online once it begins.
Q) Have you read our Code of Conduct and Forum Rules?
A) Yes.
Q) Are you at least 18 years of age? [yes, no, actual age is optional]
A) I'm 27.
Q) Have you read at least one of our example applications? [this is highly recommended]
A) I've read one example application and a couple of recently-accepted applications.
Q)
Do you have any relatives or friends currently in the guild, or were
you recruited by someone? If so, who?
A) No.
Q) Name: [planned in game/forum name]
A) Forum: Brodrik
I have no planned in-game name yet. I barely have a planned in-game class! (I enjoyed the Zealot, and playing a Bright Wizard was a blast -- no pun intended -- so logically the Sorceror should be good.)
Q) Gender: [female, male]
A) Male.
Q) What region do you live in? [City and State is fine.]
A) Ithaca, New York.
Q) How did you hear about us: [friend, another member, forum, google, other mmo's, etc]
A) Warhammer Online forums (your recruiting post).
Q) Are you currently in any other AoC, LOTRO, or Warhammer guilds?
A) I don't play AoC or LotRO, and I'm not in any Warhammer guilds. (I'm pretty sure the test guild in CE beta wouldn't have counted, but it's deleted now anyway.)
Q) Have you applied to any other guilds?
A) Nope!
Q)
We like to have fun, how's your sense of humor? Not so good? Good?
You're a standup comedian you say?
A) I have a great sense of humor! I get pretty bored with people who joke around aimlessly on Vent without actually being funny, but I suspect it's not a guild policy to tie people down and force them to listen to idle chatter if they don't want to.
Q)
What other MMO's have you played if any: [Acquired a few skills from
some other games eh? Tell us about them]
A) I played Final Fantasy 11 for quite a while (Drk, Thf, Blm). I've also played World of Warcraft (Paladin, Mage), which I stopped playing some months ago. In both of those I was in semi-casual raiding guilds (or HNM linkshell) and was a pretty good number cruncher (it's a hobby). I've also played a bit of Guild Wars, LotRO, D&D Online, and probably some others. Quite a while ago, I played and did some development for MUDs -- do those count as MMOs? :-)
Q) What makes you want to join us over some of the other guilds? [let us know!]
A) I've always preferred to stick to mature, more casual guilds. I thought you were pretty clear on where you stand on that matter, you're well-established already (the common failing of a casual guild), and I thought your IGN interview was pretty interesting. The fact that you were recruiting (for Core Destruction) also did not hurt! Warhammer Online seems like it really would be enhanced by being associated with a guild early on rather than joining a guild later in the game.
Q)
Please tell a little about yourself, aside from gaming. Perhaps some
hobbies, about your work, favorite story etc.
A) I used to be a grad student in physics; now I'm a programmer in computer security and forensics. My wife and I are fairly handy cooks (living in hippy farm country helps). My primary non-MMO hobby is pen-and-paper and board games (D&D, Carcasonne, Settlers of Catan, etc.).
Please remember to register here on these forums.
A) Yep.
Q) Do you have any questions for us?
A) Judging from your size and no-double-guilding policy, I guess you don't (currently, at least) restrict your recruiting by class. Does your no-double-guilding policy include characters on other servers, and does it mean that you automatically bring in guild members' alts into the guild? (I have no particular plans to make characters on other servers, but it's good to know.) Also, I have a couple of friends that I expect will be playing WAR. Is it reasonable to anticipate they will be able to join the guild later, if they're interested? (There's nothing wrong with them.)
