Q) What MMO do you currently have the most interest in playing?
A) Right now there are two things I'm dying to find the answer to...
1) How far can you really kick a Dwarf? (I know, who Isn't curious about this one...)
2) What sound will my sword make going through their fat little bellies.
I guess in that case it's WAR for me.
Q) Have you read our Code of Conduct and Forum Rules?
A) Yes I have.
Q) Are you at least 18 years of age? [yes, no, actual age is optional]
A) I'm 34. I had a birthday a few weeks ago and yesterday was the first time since then that I had cause to mention my age to someone during conversation. As I was saying it the thought "Damn... you're gettin old dude" was going through my head. Then again it might have been the context of the conversation. I was reminding my daughter that 34 is 17X as old as 2, so I was pretty sure it was my decision if she would take a nap or not. At the end, I ended up falling asleep in the recliner while she drew on a notebook in the floor all afternoon .... Hooray dad!
Q) Have you read at least one of our example applications? [this is highly recommended]
A) I read a few. I read a few of the "denied" app's too. I learned that some people are funny, some need to open up a bit, some sound like pretty cool people, and some really really ought to cut back on the caffiene just a little bit.
Q) Do you have any relatives or friends currently in the guild, or were you recruited by someone? If so, who?
A) I don't know any of you. Lucky you(yous?) If I have my way though, that luck is about to change.
Q) Name: [planned in game/forum name]
A) Wrak.
Q) Gender: [female, male]
A) Well... I have a lot of facial hair, so that means I'm either a guy, or that I'm just Italian...
Okay okay... if there are any Italian women in the guild you can just put down the torch and pitchfork right now! That last part was for my wife, who has a bit of Italian in her, in case she reads this. In truth Italian women are some of the sexiest creatures walking this planet, practically irresistable really (again, in case she reads this heh).
Q) What region do you live in? [City and State is fine.]
A)Just in anybody case missed the part about putting down the torch and pitchfork from above, lets just leave it at Pennsylvania.
Q) How did you hear about us: [friend, another member, forum, google, other mmo's, etc]
A) I've been poking around different web forums for a few months now waiting for a guild that had the right feel to come along. I think I found you lot on TTH.
Q) Are you currently in any other AoC, LOTRO, or Warhammer guilds?
A) Nope. Not having played any of them helps in that regard.
Q) Have you applied to any other guilds?
A)Nope.
Q) We like to have fun, how's your sense of humor? Not so good? Good? You're a standup comedian you say?
A) I've been around MMO's long enough to know that having fun is the only really good reason to keep playing. Some day's I'll be the one making the jokes. Most days I'll just be the one laughing at the jokes others make.
Q) What other MMO's have you played if any: [Acquired a few skills from some other games eh? Tell us about them]
A)For me it all started in UO back in October of '97. Honestly that might be the most fun game I have played because there was a real sense of community. I think that was because there was no level grind, no pre determined skill up's. You just went out and did your thing, and once in awhile you'd get better at it. Back in the early days it was basically unheard of for a character to be "finished" I.E. max skill and stat levels, which was pretty cool if you ask me.
After UO I migrated over to everquest which was pretty much the exact opposite of UO in terms of skills and levels, but still managed to be fun enough to occupy me for 3 years.
After EQ came WoW, which also managed to keep me busy for a few years.WoW also taught me three of the most important things I will ever learn
1) My job is more important to me than any game I'll ever play
2) My wife is more important to me than any game I'll ever play
3) My daughter is more important to me than anything, period.
For the reason I left WoW see #3. I was in a raiding guild that demanded more of my time that I was willing to give, so I mothballed my account and several raid equipped characters and didn't look back.
After WoW came EQ2 where I managed to really settle into a casual kind of play when I want and don't play when I have more important things sort of pattern. I stopped EQ2 about three months ago when a weekend home improvement project morphed into a summer long whole home renovation. Now I'm itching to try something new.
Q) What makes you want to join us over some of the other guilds? [let us know!]
A)I like the fact that you call yourself a casual guild.
I like that not once have I been asked what class will I be playing.
I like the fact that this guild will be 18+. We adults can at times inject plenty of our own immaturity into the mix without bringing in any natural sources.
I also like the fact that when I go to your website I see so many rejected Apps. It tells me you arent accepting people just to buff numbers, or accepting idiots because they are a means to an end. Just BTW, if you DO end up rejecting my app, I'll probably want to go back and change this part a bit okay? Thx.
Other than that, theres just something I like about this guild based on lurking around your page and reading up for a bit. I've probably looked at 100 or so guilds so far, and while there are some good ones, no doubt, none have felt exactly like what I want to be part of until now.
Q) Please tell a little about yourself, aside from gaming. Perhaps some hobbies, about your work, favorite story etc.
A) At work I'm a project manager for a local land development company. My job's great, fast paced, and at times, stressful as hell(which I love). At home I'm a dad and hubby and that's usually enough to keep a guy busy heh. I fill in the extra time with online gaming, hiking, and sports(playing or watching). Other than that, there isn't much to tell.
Please remember to register here on these forums.
A) I will.
Q) Do you have any questions for us?
A)Yep. Absolutely. In fact it's a significant concern. Your name... Hammerfist clan. It sounds awfully... Dwarvish. Now don't get me wrong I like dwarves as much as the next bloke... They're great in soup, you can kick them about a mile, and every time I start to think an Orcish girl isn't the prettiest, well just stand her next to some Dwarven mama and all of a sudden that Orcish lass looks like miss friggin Universe!
I'm getting sidetracked. That name... I just need to know that there isn't some deranged little dwarf (or group of dwarfs) that mnanaged to get a foothold here and now pull the strings of an entire guild from the shadows, because they're pissed off at the world that their parents didn't have the good sense to be Orcs in the first place.
So what say? We good?
