    SLI Advantage

Post by fulgora on Sun Jun 08, 2008 4:38 am

Now that the game is out and people have been playing, has anyone seen a visible difference using SLI?

I am running an E8400, 4 gigs ram on a 8800 GT at max seetings and things are really great but I have noticedthat when I group, I see a lot more lag. Not sure if this is due to server stability or the simple fact of having more people on my screen.

Any thoughts before I pluck down the $ for another card?

AoC does not currently support SLi.

Not sure when it will at this point.

Save your cash and just upgrade to the new series of Nvidia cards coming out at the end of the month.

I would just go with one top end card instead of messing with SLi anyway.

They say SLI isn't working, but when I go from 1 8800 GTX to 2 8800 GTX (turn on SLI) I get a minimum of 15 FPS better. I go from 25-30ish FPS in OT to 40-50.

I also just upgraded to 2 8800GTs. At first I couldn't get it to work until I changed setting from "Nvidia Recommend" to "Force Rendering 2".
It works great. I now can have higher settings with shadows turned off and get 45 - 50 fps and in heavy populated areas that will drop to about 30-35 fps. I have seen it as high as 100fps briefly though.

Oh, before the 2nd 8800GT, I used less graphic settings with shadow off and was getting around 30-35 fps and heavy populated areas it was around 25-30 fps.

I believe that SLI is working in game.

sli is working but it isn't optimized, just like quad core processors.
