    Ventrilo funkiness Empty Ventrilo funkiness

Post by Trained Mon Jun 02, 2008 4:06 pm

    heya everybooty,

I am experiencing something wierd with Ventrilo. Before I start the game, I can connect to ventrilo, hear everyone, talk and be heard, everything works just groovy.

As soon as I start the game, however, ventrilo gacks up, and gives me an error about "too many sounds are being sent through and ventrilo has been shut down" (approximate wording)

I have vista64, Creative Xi-Fi Fatal1ty sound card, stand alone RockFish mic, drivers are all up to date, checked settings, had some guildies go over some settings with me, but this still keeps happening.

So, basically, when i'm in game, ventrilo is hosed.

Anyone have any ideas? Thanks! Smile

I am having the EXACT same issue. I have been using Ventrilo, with the same settings, for years on this computer, and no issues. Unfortunately, I have not figured out what is causing this one...but once I do, I will post here. In case you figure it out, please post here also.

Ah, I forgot to add that I am using XP. Also, the PC I use for Vent is seperate from the PC I use to play the game on. Basically, the only thing I run on this particular machine is Vent.

It looks like we have the same sound card though...so maybe that is the issue?

Hmmm, that very well could be. I didn't have any time to investigate further last night, my girlfriend pimp slapped me for +70 damage because she had her blood flow buff maxed out, so I had to take her to dinner and a movie. Women, sheeeesh.

If you have Nvidia Network Access Manager (their firewall thingy) installed, get rid of it.

That's been known to interfere with vent, torrents, and pretty much everything without giving the user a choice.

Thanks Darwa, yeah, I ran into that issue a long time ago, I can't believe Nvidia has never addressed it. I think I may have figgered it out, I will know more tonight, and post the fix in here if it works. Smile
