Installing Mobo and Cpu Empty Installing Mobo and Cpu

Post by Lorahand Tue May 20, 2008 12:45 pm

Okay i am replacing my Mobo and Cpu as of tonght... as of right now I have everything installed on my Mobo(Cpu, Mem, etc) and have it attached to my case. I also have the power supply hooked up to where it all should be...

My question is... Do I boot it up with everything connected including my SLI'd vid cards? And should I insert my windows CD and reformat right away? Or I guess what do I do after all this, what are the proper steps to see if it posts and what not?

Keep in mind I switched from an AMD board and processor... if you need to know that. I am installing a 780i SLI board and Q6600 processor...

Basically I guess what steps do I take to see if it posts? And how do I make sure that it does not boot up using my existing files on my hard drive cause I would assume that would cause problems, or am I wrong?
