    This is the exact problem I am having. It's not a matter of waiting for the hi-rez textures to load, sometimes they are already loaded, I get a subtle lighting change and the textures revert back to the low, mip-mapped versions of themselves. I can alt-tab out of the game, and then back in and the textures are loaded again...but another lighting change will send them back to low-rez.

    After the 7 hour long downtime and series of patches last night, it seemed to have been fixed, but after this morning, my problem is back again. Did they undo some of the things they patched last night, with this morning's pre-launch patch?

    hmmm I had a problem similar to that in the Open Beta, but I am waiting until my new setup is up and running to start playing the retail version of conan.

    Yeah, it happens somewhat frequently. In closed beta, it manifested itself whenever the memory leak problem happened. Sometimes it just takes a little longer to load a particular texture. If it gets really bad, logout and let your memory refresh and it should be OK.

    Another related problem you may see if the mini map looking fuzzy or the main map going gray. Both happened to me today, but for the first time ever the issue resolved itself without having to relog. Looks like the new memory management system is cleaning up behind itself when memory is low. This is a good thing.

    The funny thing is, I know exactly where that picture was taken. Even when everything is running smoothly, that particular step is fuzzy a lot.
