I am having a lot of fun with the trial so far. It's the most fun I've had in an mmo in a while. YAAAAARRR!

Anyone else try this? Or want too? burningsea.com

It's brand spanking new, came out in January I believe. The combat that occurs when you board an enemy ship is fantasically fun imo.


(And yes, I am still trying City of Heroes. It's fun but the interface and the movement are VERY clunky. I will probably play it a little further.)

Ive played it and was in the beta as well. It will wear thin quick. Ship to ship combat is a nice concept, grapple hooks, grapeshot for sails..even deck battles between crew, but unless they revamped it. It was just a hack n slash game. Really took no skill. Turning ships in combat was a pain, Pirates are the only one they can "salvage" a ship as their own w/o having to buy or make one..then you got those pirate hunters that just looooove to hunt you.
It is a decent game, but behind the times.
Edit: Yeah it was released Jan of 2008..over a year old.

Sid Meir's Pirates (any version) was more fun.

Yeah, what Mpire said. It will get old very quick. My husband was excited about this game when it was still in development (his first interest in any mmo mind you), he played it for about 1 1/2months and tried to get me into it. I played it for a few days. Needless to say, we both quit playing and never looked back.
But who knows, maybe you can get into it. *shrug*

Eh, after reading all the opinions I highly doubt I can get into it. I do get bored of things real quick. lol

A bit of a threadjack, but I noticed the L4D reference in your sig. Have you been playing? I did a bunch of the single player and it was great fun but have only done a bit of the online yet. It's supposed to be truly fun when you get a group to play versus mode, particularly as the zombie horde.

Honestly, I've done very little of the solo stuff. 90% of the time I play versus mode. Playing as the zombie horde is great fun. My fiance has played through almost every little thing in that game including half of the stuff on expert. I'm getting better but I'm not the best at FPS's.

Ah - I'm strictly PC when it comes to FPS games. I can't stand the console controls for FPS. They're just too clunky and not responsive enough.

Yes, I get at least 2 people that say that every time I mention L4D for the xbox360.
Everyone has their preferences. I actually do better with the FPS's on the console than PC.
