A) The warhammeralliance.com Ulthuan guild listing. Hammerfist Clan sounded like just the ticket for an old fart like me. Um, no offence to anyone in the clan. Really.

A) I'm in Ars Erthad on Gladden in LOTRO. I'd love to find a guild on Averheim for my Order toons...any recommendations?

A) I love to laugh. In fact, I am constantly laughing at the goofy things I do in-game that get me killed. It's a riot. Seriously, the only reason I play games is to have fun. I don't want a second job, or to babysit, or to have to have a spreadsheet open to fully understand why my lost 1v1 versus . If I'm not having fun, I quit playing. Life's too short and all that...

A) First...I do NOT have mad skillz. Well, they make me mad, but that's about it. That out of the way, I've played WOW (quite a bit, but I can't talk about it anymore), LOTRO, EVE Online, Guild Wars, and EQ2

Q) What makes you want to join us over some of the other guilds? [let us know!]
A) I'm impressed that you cater to gamers with responsibilities. I like the 'Code of Conduct'. I thought that the article on warhammeralliance.com about the clan sounded like the perfect place for me, so here I am.

Q) Please tell a little about yourself, aside from gaming. Perhaps some hobbies, about your work, favorite story etc.
A) I am a web developer these days, and work for a small company here in Orlando.

Turn ons: riding bicycles, shooting photographs, making wheel-thrown pottery, being able to listen to my iPod when I'm slaving in the yard, annoying the cats in various ways...it's payback.

Turn offs: slaving in the yard during a typical Florida summer, finding petrified lizards in my computer, grilling in the rain, toilets that back up.

Lately I've been reading a couple of books by Eckhardt Tolle and trying to free myself from gratuitous ego fullfillment foo. It's a process...

How to make a CakePie, by Dietche

Items needed:
Pie pan
Pie crust
Pie filling of your choosing
Cake batter of your choosing
Large soup can (remove top and bottom "lids" so you can see thru it, remove paper, wash on top rack of dishwasher)

Place pie crust in pie pan, as normal.
Place can in center of pie crust, vertically. Press down slightly, enough to dent the crust so you have a seal at the bottom. Don't go all the way through the crust as that will leave a spot that will burn later, once the can is removed.
Fill around the outer part of the can to the edges of the pie pan with cake batter, half the height of the pie pan, to allow for expansion of the cake.
Fill inside of can with pie filling to the height of the pie pan, as it won't expand much, if any at all.

Preheat oven. Bake according to the cake directions for time. Be mindful of the cooking time for the pie crust however. You have to choose cakes and pie crusts with compatible times and temperatures. Doesn't have to be exact by any stretch, just close.
Halfway through the cook time, remove the can carefully. This should help the pie filling not get burnt by the hot metal and allow it to fuse to the cake batter better.

You likely won't get this right on the first attempt. The trick is that the cake batter and pie filling cook at different rates, but, the pie filling is far thicker at the start which helps balance that. Adjust the height of the pie filling in the can to adjust it's cooking time. More filling will cook slower, and vice versa. It's impossible to predict how this will go since it all depends on the batter and filling choices. Once you have a successful CakePie made, make sure to mark the height of the filling on the can so you can duplicate it. When done right the filling and the batter will meld together and create a very delightful boundry layer.
