Q) Have you read our Code of Conduct and Forum Rules?
A) Yes, yes I have.
Q) Are you at least 18+ years of age? [yes, no, actual age is optional]
A) I am wiser than the average bear. My first vehicle had an 8 track cassette player, and it was not considered a vintage car at the time.
Q) What region do you live in? [City and State is fine.]
A) Mid-South United States.
Q) Gender:
A) Male
Q) Have you read at least one of our example applications? [this is highly recommended]
A) I have reviewed a few of the accepted applications, as well as, a few of those less fortunate that were denied acceptance into the halls of greatness.
Q) Do you have any relatives or friends currently in the guild, or were you recruited by someone? If so, who?
A) No. I have relatives who play another MMO and may move to AoC in the future.
Q)Forum name: [The name you will be registering here]
A) Tarhalin
Q) Current character name(s): [blank if none]
A) Tarhalin (Ranger-32), Valborg (Bear Shaman-36) I prefer the classic ranger archetype in any MMO but after experimenting with Bear Shaman find it rather fun. Am willing to work on both to expand crafting capabilities, and usefulness to the clan.
Q) How did you hear about us: [friend, another member, forum, Google, other MMO's, etc]
A) I first saw the Hammerfist Clan AoC guild listing on Wiki then did more research in the AoC forums and official site.
Q) Are you currently in any other Age of Conan guilds? Please tell us your reason for wanting to leave if you answered yes.
A) Never been in a guild in AoC.
Q) Have you applied to any other Age of Conan guilds? Please tell us the status of your application if you answered yes.
A) This is my first AoC guild application and I don't intend to apply to another while I await a response to this request.
Q) What class and level are you? If you're not playing yet, what class do you intend to conquer Hyboria with?
A) Tarhalin (Ranger-32), Valborg (Bear Shaman-36)
Q) We like to have fun, how's your sense of humor? Not so good? Good? You're a standup comedian you say?
A) I am good for famous one liner's but by no means a comedian. I am partial to dry humor though not a diehard Seinfeld fan.
Q) What other MMO's have you played if any: [Acquired a few skills from some other games eh? Tell us about them]
A) My MMO experience started with multiple friends huddled over a PC while playing Zork series on a machine that couldn't make coffee today. Since then I have graduated to Ultima Online, Dark Age of Camelot, Vanguard, and most recently Final Fantasy XI. Each of those had their own particular flaws. I still actively play FFXI due to relatives on that game. I was a fan from an early age of the Conan novels and the more mature content in this MMO was a huge draw. I am an experienced MMO'er and my stengths lie in strategy and tactics. My weakness would be experience in raiding per say as I have never really played WoW and FFXI consists mainly of camping (one of the more serious flaws in that MMO).
Q) What makes you want to join us over some of the other AoC guilds? [let us know!]
A) I am looking for an established guild with mature players who enjoy gaming as a means of entertainment not a livelihood or extreme sport.
Q) What is your forum name on the official AoC forums?
A) Tarhalin
Q) Tell us a tidbit or two about you, outside of gaming. Maybe about your job, your hobbies, maybe what sports you like to play. Anything you'd like to share.
A) I am a history addict who enjoys only the finest coffees from around the world. I can pilot a helicopter but no longer do that for a living for health reasons. I now fly a desk, but prefer being home with my wife and kids rather than spending long hours at work. The coolest thing I have done this week is teach my son to ride his bike without training wheels.
Please remember to register here on these forums.
A) Ah yes. I will press that proverbial button as soon as I finish this post.
Q) Do you have any questions for us?
A) I am certain to have a few, but nothing comes to mind right now.

Okay. I have two questions for you, then:
1. Have you ever had that coffee that has passed through the digestive tract of a Civet? (Because it's supposedly the best cup of joe you'll ever have, but I just can't personally imagine drinking coffee that I learn about by googling "cat shit coffee". Plus, it's like $50 a cup.)
2. History addict, eh? Okay, name (in order) the succession of Roman Caesars from Gaeus Julius to Nero. (Including those two it's only six, so it should be cake for a history buff.) Sure, you could look it up on Wikipedia, but then you'd just be a punk.
Incidentally, yes - I actually know the answer to my own question. And I didn't have to google it, either.

Fine coffee? Bah if it can't strip paint then why drink it? It's great to hear you're a history buff. Even if you don't know the answer to that ridiculous question, I'll still believe you're a history buff. Maybe you specialized more in Genghis Khan or something.
So what type of copters did you fly? I got to check out the ol Miami Vice one used on set. It was pretty sweet. I've got to hang around a few Apache's, Cobra's, Chinook's, and Huey's as well. I don't fly but I like to crawl around them and check stuff out.

Caesar & Joe
Ok I registered "after" submiting my application last night. However I am now receiving the username take error when I try to reply to my post. Suggestions on how to fix?
1. "Have you ever had that coffee that has passed through the digestive tract of...?”
A) Um not sure I'd drink anything that has been processed, especially through another living creature's intestines. I prefer to grind my own beans for freshness Blue Mountain Jamaican coffee is my favorite so far.
2. The succession of Roman Caesars from Gaeus Julius to Nero.
A) Hmm without looking. Augustus aka Octavian was the first true Caesar, never liked his proper name. "Burn the house down" Nero was fifth, unless of course you mean Tiberius Nero who was second. Third was Gaeus aka Caligula. Fourth was Claudius. Julius was never actually given the title of Caesar; but you meant Gaeus Julius I presume (Augustus). 6 hmm I'd have to peek, guess I'm rusty. I do remember 6-8 be the year of 4 Caesars. The first three of those four were of the Claudius regime with Vitellius being the final Caesar of the main precepts. From there the lines diverge into multiple dynasties and bloodlines far too complicated to track w/o a super computer. Long winded answer but hey not bad for a middle-aged man. At least Alzheimer’s hasn’t set in yet.
My specialty was medieval European history and the evolution of warfare. Want to know how development of the horseshoe led to advances in mounted warfare which influenced armored combat in WWI? How about the impact of sailing vessels on the outcome of the 2 and 3rd Crusades? That's more my lane.
3. My question for the Clan. Am I the only one that know what an 8 track or Zork is?
I foresee a thread with a weekly discussion on a random history topic. Woot sounds fun.

Whirley birds
I assume the quote is a member feature?
Wrothgar asked what type of copter did I fly?
I have flown OH-58, UH-60A and UH-60L model whirley birds. I'll bring my CD home tomorrow and post a few pics.

Not bad, not bad. I was referring to Gaius Julius Caesar, not Octavian. You are correct that he was never technically a true Caesar. However, he was in fact a dictator, and his name "Caesar" was later used at their title for Emperor. Next was Octavian (correctly the first "true" Emperor), then Tiberius, Caligula, Claudius and Nero. Following Nero was Galba, who was the first of the "year of four emperors".
In any event, that you even bothered to answer is good enough to earn a
from me.
